Summary
We created a Wikipedia page for Hitoshi Okamura. He is a Japanese chronobiologist, best known for his discovery of mammalian per genes. He is also studying sleep disorders and jet lag. Along with the mPer discovery, his lab has made important discoveries in the negative feedback loop of PER and CRY proteins, as well as the central role of SCN in the circadian clock. He has contributed to determining the importance of the SCN in synchronizing rhythms and controlling all other rhythms. His work also includes discovering the critical role mCry plays in the circadian clock.
