File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:File:Latium.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ZooFari 06:04, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Varieties of English

[edit]

In this edit you replaced "sceptical" with "skeptical", with the edit summary "typo fix". No doubt this was done in good faith, but in fact "sceptical" was not a typo, but the standard spelling in most of the English-speaking world, though not in the United States. I don't know whether you are acquainted with the guideline on national varieties of English, but a relevant point from that guideline is that we retain the existing variety, not changing it without a particular reason. Also perhaps of some relevance, though less so in my judgement, is the principle that if a topic has strong ties to a particular nation we should use the English of that nation; it could be argued that, since Dawkins is British, we should use British English. Both of these principles indicate that the spelling should not have been changed. I say this not as a criticism, since evidently you believed you were correcting a mistake, but just as a warning of an easily made error to look out for in the future. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Latium Entertainment, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Latium Entertainment and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:59, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:32, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Latium Entertainment. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:46, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
