Hi, Scanadaedits, I hope you find this message. (On mobile it should create an alert which will increment a red number in the top right of the page.) You've made a number of edits that were reverted by various people. The joke about the seal was mildly funny, but unconstructive. The Latin loan-phrase wikt:in situ is actually the right term at Colonization of Titan, its meaning there is more like "in-place" than "in site". Though I can imagine how you might think that was just a typo needing to be fixed, do you question why you made the same change four times and it keeps disappearing?

There are three features in the MediaWiki software that may help you get more out of Wikipedia editing, and avoid butting heads with people here:

  1. Discussion or "Talk" pages, like this one, where community members communicate with each other.
  2. Edit summaries: when you make a change, type in the summary box what it was about or why. That way, other people can see your rationale and react accordingly. The part between the /* ... */ creates a link to the section heading, you type your message after that.
  3. History pages: Every page has a history of all the changes made to it. For example, see Colonization of Titan: Revision history.

You can ask questions at The Wikipedia Teahouse (a Q&A board for newcomers).

Hope that helps, Pelagic (talk) 23:14, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
