ABA Division Title (Regular Season-Playoff)

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

ABA Easter/Western Division Ttitle (Regular Season) = NBA Division Title

ABA Eastern/Western Division Title (Playoff) = NBA Conference Title

So of course you can win both title in one year like Nets did in NBA in 2002 and 2003 and if you don't want to put in division column you should put in Conference column, but you said that "no indication that division titles were given in playoffs"

ABA Division in Playoff = NBA Conference

@Lolloasdawqa: ABA Eastern/Western Division Title (Playoff) = NBA Conference Title – that is completely false. Division and conference are two completely different things. In addition, reliable sources quite clearly say that ABA division title (just like NBA) is a regular season achievement. – sbaio 15:16, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
In NBA from 1950 to 1970 there wasn't Conference, but It was called Division (Playoffs) and was the same things of ABA. Lolloasdawqa (talk) 15:24, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
@Lolloasdawqa: That is once again completely false. In the NBA division title was always a regular season achievement. Stop implying otherwise if you are not familiar with the subject. – sbaio 15:25, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
If you watch for example this link you Will see that there was a Eastern Division Semifinals and Eastern Division Finals in Playoff

@Lolloasdawqa: I am very well aware of playoff round names. They do not mean anything in the pre-conference era. Reliable sources very clearly say that division title is a regular season achievement. For example, an excerpt from 2022–23 Indiana Pacers media guide – In both 1972 and 1973, Indiana finished second in the Western Division, but was able to regroup to win the championship.sbaio 15:49, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
what is the difference with NBA, only the nane, the Trophies in NBA were given to each conference winner starting in 2001, in the First link that i posted Yesterday there was the Nets that exposed banner with ABA Eastern Division Champion (Playoff) 1972 Lolloasdawqa (talk) 15:56, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
@Lolloasdawqa: That image does not mean anything. The Nets media guide says that the division winners in 1971–72 were the Kentucky Colonels (Eastern Division) and Utah Stars (Western Division), which was in regular season. Please stop wasting my time with your implications. – sbaio 16:07, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

I'd modified the template so I could expand on the description; I'm moving towards hopefully getting the VGK article to FAC status, and @Nikkimaria as well as the reviewer asked to elaborate on the use rationale as it and that of the secondary logo were both identical and the default message. The Kip 00:33, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

@The Kip: I see what you are trying to do. Template:Non-free use rationale logo should be used for non-free logos. In addition, these are basically the same templates and both templates use the same parameters so it is not needed to fill them in since everything is written automatically. You can compare both of them through logo's history and would see that basically the same information is written. The |low_resolution= parameter must use the Template:SVG-Res template, which is meant for SVG logos. If you still want to fill some of the parameters, which are optional, then use Template:Non-free use rationale logo as I indicated earlier. – sbaio 16:14, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Adding Jonah Gadjovich Stanley Cup status

See Ben Hutton not qualifying under rules yet being included.

Obviously there is no way to know yet whether his name will be included or not, but considering the closeness of his qualifications (2 games short) and his injury history from this season. See also.

Would a possible solution be to add it in the article but not include it in the box or a separate award section until further info is known as to his inclusion? Ruttgc49 12:49, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

@Ruttgc49: Gadjovich is not listed at NHL records page. We do not add him as Stanley Cup champion until the team asks for an exemption and he appears on that NHL records page. Your suggestion to add something in prose is nothing more than WP:CRYSTAL at this point. – sbaio 18:17, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

I see you've already had this discussion. Will wait until Gadjovich officially gets an exemption before changing his page. --Count3D (talk) 20:14, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Hello there. The logo with ® is used on their website, on NHL's website, on their Facebook page and on their Instagram page. I can't find a single official document that's currently used which uses the version without ®. Why would Wikipedia then use the logo without it? Jonteemil (talk) 15:03, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

And the same goes with the Bruins logo. Jonteemil (talk) 15:06, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
None of those characters are used on uniforms. So this should be discussed, because I am pretty sure there are some guidelines that talk about this, but I am away at this moment so I can not check it. – sbaio 15:14, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
The first page that comes to my mind is WP:IUP#FORMAT. – sbaio 15:16, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
Can you find anything regarding the use of ® and in logos there? I can't at least. Jonteemil (talk) 15:19, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

Would you please help me export File:New York Islanders wordmark logo.svg to Wikimedia Commons so that I may be able to add a WP:NONFREE use rationale for its use in the infobox of the Capitals–Islanders rivalry, Flyers–Islanders rivalry & Islanders–Rangers rivalry articles? Please? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 03:09, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

@Charlesaaronthompson: I am not familiar with moving files to Commons. I think you might find something at WP:MTC or try asking at WP:FFD. – sbaio 04:51, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi Sbaio, just thought I'd let you know that I have filed an AN/I report for User:Marino13, over at this thread, for their persistence in personal attacks targeting you and at least two other users. Regards, — AP 499D25 (talk) 04:43, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

Thanks. Left my comments in that discussion. – sbaio 08:10, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
