Ticonderoga class carriers

[edit]

Welcome aboard. I just undid your edits to USS Philippine Sea (CV-47). Originally I started to do it because your edits seemed to be based on a misunderstanding between the Ticonderoga subclass of the Essex class carriers and the later AEGIS Ticonderoga class cruisers. However ultimately I did it because the changes you made shrunk the length of the ship! After some more research I tend to agree that the "official" name was still Essex class for the longer hulled carriers. And in any event, all the "Ticonderoga" carriers articles should be consistent. So I started a discussion over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#Ticonderoga carriers to see what the consensus is on which way to go. Also I saw your ESSEX class aircraft carrier stub, so I redirected it to the well established Essex class aircraft carrier article. Lastly take a look around WP:SHIPS and feel free to join us. --J Clear 17:51, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
