Live updates of sports tables

[edit]

Please do not add the crashed/retired riders info in the table while the race is ongoing per WP:LIVESCORES. Technically they could still race if ever the race gets red flagged and restarted. Just wait for the race to end. Wikipedia is not Wikinews, nor is it a sports ticker tape. Dieter Lloyd Wexler 18:17, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Once someones out of the race they cant rejoin. RxxingAddict (talk) 18:19, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Colin Turkington - 2025 British Touring Car Championship

[edit]

Hello RxxingAddict. You asked why Colin Turkington is featured on the 2025 British Touring Car Championship page.

Turkington replaced Jake Hill for the second official Free Practice session at Croft and was also given an official competitor number (21) by the series organiser. https://www.facebook.com/OfficialBTCC/posts/1183480957146808/

By competing in that Free Practice session he was also eligible to compete in both official qualifying and the rest of the race meeting. The team subsequently decided to withdraw the entry due to the late nature of the replacement. https://btcc.net/car-1-withdrawn-from-remainder-of-croft-weekend/

Therefore, although he did not take part in a race, he did officially take part in the race weekend which is why he has been added. Your revision has, respectfully, been reversed.

Kind regards,

NRF101. NRF101 (talk) 23:35, 12 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We don’t put drivers that have only competed in free practice in the ‘entry list’ part as that is based on the respective entry lists for each event, he was never on any entry list. Therefore he should not be included in the page.
He is also not being included in the results and standings bit. RxxingAddict (talk) 08:59, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2025 E4 Championship

Mate, you have to move the "name rankings", and focus on update rookies and women championship too... Thank you Alessandro User (talk) 09:34, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Funnily enough, that’s what I was doing, thanks 👍 RxxingAddict (talk) 09:36, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gabriel Gomez didn't even start the race; why do you put him "dnf" instead of "dns" Alessandro User (talk) 16:10, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We can always just change it if they are and penalties given out. RxxingAddict (talk) 16:18, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i have the same idea, but i dont know if wikipedia admins like the idea to change everytime the rank (idk if you ever recorded a message like "too many edits in few time") Alessandro User (talk) 16:20, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve never had that problem before, personally RxxingAddict (talk) 16:21, 11 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2025 British Touring Car Championship

[edit]

Hello there,

I see that the entry for Colin Turkington has once again been reverted.

You are quite correct when you say that Turkington was not on the official entry list. That particular driver change was made during the course of the meeting and would therefore not appear on that entry list.

The late entry to the meeting was sanctioned by the championship organisers and reported in an official press release (https://www.facebook.com/OfficialBTCC/posts/1183480957146808/) which was fully referenced in the revision. It was also marked with an asterisk and footnote explaining the same thing.

Whilst I agree Turkington was not on the pre-event entry list I do think he should be included as he took part in an official timed session that permitted him to complete the rest of the race meeting. The fact that the car was subsequently withdrawn is irrelevant.

I also noticed your rather rude footnote in the revision ("How many times do I need to repeat myself").

Thanks, NRF101. NRF101 (talk) 23:42, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No. Free practice drivers aren't on the entry lists. 👍👍👍👍 RxxingAddict (talk) 08:12, 16 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've said it so many times now... RxxingAddict (talk) 08:12, 16 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you really want to include him in the article just add a little bit in the 'mid season changes' section. RxxingAddict (talk) 08:20, 16 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw that you deleted the standings for the TCR China Championship and TCR China Challenge because you didn’t really understand them. If you want to format them in the same style as the other racing series (where wins are highlighted in gold and the positions are shown for each driver, etc.), you can absolutely do that. I can send you all the race and qualifying results so you can create the championship standings like in the other Wiki season pages. Just to explain — these are the points scored in each race or qualifying session. If you add up all the points for the first driver, you get 381 points (TCR China Championship), and so on for the others. Hope that makes sense now for you! MotorsportFan0926 (talk) 18:08, 17 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

the standings on Wikipedia are positions, not how many points were scored in each race. 👍 RxxingAddict (talk) 18:50, 17 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I know — but creating it exactly like the other Wikipedia racing series is just too complicated for me 😅 MotorsportFan0926 (talk) 14:11, 18 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
