Information icon Hello, I'm TornadoLGS. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Davina McCall. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Hello, I'm GalianoP3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Daniel Křetínský, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. GalianoP3 (talk) 11:30, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Richarddavidson1982. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Hemiauchenia (talk) 11:41, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at your editing history, it's reasonable to suspect that you are engaging in undisclosed paid editing (WP:UPE), a violation of Wikipedia policy. If you are being paid by clients then you need to disclose this. If you do not do so, I will escalate this and make a post on WP:COIN. Hemiauchenia (talk) 11:43, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Hemiauchenia,
I just wanted to clarify that I don’t have any conflict of interest with the subjects I edit. I tend to focus on entrepreneurs and public figures like actors because I follow them closely in the news. I don't think this constitutes a COI from what I've understood?
Regarding the edits to Bartlett's page, I was a bit confused by some of the changes you made, and I thought I should address them. For example, the revision mentioning “Lee Chambers” as a guest on The Diary of a CEO doesn’t seem accurate. I’ve watched the show and searched across its channel, and I couldn’t find any evidence of this. It struck me as something that might have been added to promote Lee Chambers, which didn’t align with Wikipedia’s guidelines. Was this incorrect?
Similarly, the edit referring to Steven Bartlett as a rapper seemed misleading. From what I could find online, it appears he once rapped at a bar with a friend when he was 17, but this doesn’t seem to qualify as a "significant career or milestone" worth including. The only evidence I could find was a brief, 10-second video in a bar, which doesn’t meet Wikipedia’s guideline for notability (WP:N) or the standard for verifiability (WP:V) as a substantial or enduring achievement. Including this detail seems to conflict with WP:UNDUE, as it gives disproportionate weight to a minor and fleeting event in his life? Please tell me If I've got this wrong?
Finally, on the note about Flight Group, I believed the milestone Steven is most recognised for is The Diary of a CEO, which, according to recent articles, appears to be part of Flight Studio, itself a part of Flight Group. In line with Wikipedia’s guidelines on verifiability (WP:V) and reliable sources (WP:RS), I felt it was important to reflect the structure accurately, ensuring readers understand the connection between these entities. Please tell me If I've got this wrong?
I’m happy to defer to Wikipedia’s guidelines if I’ve misunderstood anything and welcome any suggestions to improve my contributions. My aim is always to provide accurate and well-supported information, so I value the feedback. Richarddavidson1982 (talk) 13:05, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please don't change the format of dates, as you did to Alexandra Cooper. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Denisarona (talk) 12:17, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out, Denisarona. I appreciate the guidance regarding date formats and will ensure I adhere to Wikipedia’s style guidelines in the future. I understand the importance of maintaining consistency in articles and avoiding ordinal suffixes or unnecessary formatting changes. Thank you again for your helpful feedback!
