Parr Fold Park moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Parr Fold Park. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 12:53, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

How many sources are recommended for publication? (I'm using four sources at the moment, I just haven't put them on yet 😅). RandomAccountForOneTimeUseSorry (talk) 12:57, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
At the very least The Best Three sources (both reliable, has significant coverage of the subject, is independent) you got. You can read WP:THREE for more information. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 13:01, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Could you clarify?

[edit]

[1] I've always heard that for plural, s' and s's are accepted. But that wasn't on Wikipedia, rather, it was the general world. Could you please clarify where you saw this? --cheesewhisk3rs ≽^•⩊•^≼ ∫ (pester) 14:28, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A book called Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss who says this:

Im goinf to crash out. I cant quote the passage bc this stupid text box is not letting me. Just give me a minute bc i spent 20 minutes trying to quote it and now its deleted RandomAccountForOneTimeUseSorry (talk) 15:00, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I was asking in terms of a Wikipedia guideline/the Manual of Style. In the world there are multiple ways of doing this and following an example from a book might not be what Wikipedia does. --cheesewhisk3rs ≽^•⩊•^≼ ∫ (pester) 15:05, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia does not say as far as I'm aware (I checked but I might have missed something) RandomAccountForOneTimeUseSorry (talk) 15:06, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since I can't quote the passage, I'll summarise:

The standard (according to Fowler's Modern English Usage) is to do s's except when referring to people from the ancient world or whose names make an "iz" sound (except Jesus). (And a bit more niche cases).

But the author said it doesn't really matter and we "shouldn't fixate on them"
However, I added the "s" because it was originally there in the article but I removed it a few days prior. (Essentially, I reverted my own edit). RandomAccountForOneTimeUseSorry (talk) 15:17, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, alright. I didn't see the edit from before. (Zohran Mamdani is on my watchlist but I don't check it too often.) --cheesewhisk3rs ≽^•⩊•^≼ ∫ (pester) 15:20, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey! I checked the MoS again and there's a section on this: MOS:'S RandomAccountForOneTimeUseSorry (talk) 15:42, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
