Speedy deletion nomination of Michael Whiteman (musician)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Michael Whiteman (musician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - Hello, you have marked the page about Michael Whiteman (musician) for speedy deletion and it appears that it was removed. Since the person in question is a co-author of the entire latest album of a major progressive rock band Spock's Beard, I believe he deserves a Wikipedia page and qualifies as being sufficiently important. Personally, I was wondering who that person was when I saw the credits for the Spock's Beard latest album and found a few facts after conducting a research. I am pretty sure many other people will be interested and have to do the same unless there is a Wikipedia page. So, it would be nice if you could revise your decision. Thanks! - @RE$IDENT If you want, you may create a draft, because your version does not sound very encyclopedic. I suggest you read other articles and see how they write it. :D HwyNerd Mike (t | c) 18:13, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- You are right that the page was not quite encyclopedic at that point, as it was work in progress based on the raw information from other sources, but was deleted for an entirely different unfounded reason well before any improvement was possible. I will create a new page with a better edited content and hope that there will be no more problems. Thanks! RE$IDENT (talk) 18:32, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

- Hello, it would really be nice if you could be more specific about the exact reason why the article does not meet the requirements. It actually contains five references from various sources that should meet the criteria. If you believe they do not please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Regards.
