I did a quick skim through the disgruntled editor's contributions, and noticed they have a habit of ranting about articles on the talk page, sometimes reply to a comment over ten years earlier, without ever supplying sources. In this case, the rant appears to be distillable down to "this article isn't written in American English". Which it isn't, being of a British person. - Gotcha. I'm open to criticisms/feedback/suggestions but we'll need specifics. Popcornfud (talk) 14:27, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Noah Yorke
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Noah Yorke requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it exhibits one or more of the following signs which indicate that the page could only plausibly have been generated by large language models (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology) and would have been removed by any reasonable human review:
- Communication intended for the user: This may include collaborative communication (e.g., "Here is your Wikipedia article on..."), knowledge-cutoff disclaimers (e.g., "Up to my last training update ..."), self-insertion (e.g., "as a large language model"), and phrasal templates (e.g., "Smith was born on [Birth Date].")
- Implausible non-existent references: This may include external links that are dead on arrival, ISBNs with invalid checksums, and unresolvable DOIs. Since humans can make typos and links may suffer from link rot, a single example should not be considered definitive. Editors should use additional methods to verify whether a reference truly does not exist.
- Nonsensical citations: This may include citations of incorrect temporality (e.g a source from 2020 being cited for a 2022 event), DOIs that resolve to completely unrelated content (e.g., a paper on a beetle species being cited for a computer science article), and citations that attribute the wrong author or publication.
Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Pages created using them that did not undergo human review may be deleted at any time.
If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find creating new encyclopedia content yourself difficult, please share this with other editors at the Teahouse, and they may be able to help. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your legitimate contributions. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 05:49, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Alexandermcnabb I think there's been some sort of mixup here.
- I assume, since I received this message, I'm the creator of the Noah Yorke page, which is totally plausible, but I can't remember and can't check because apparently the page has already been wiped.
- In any case, I suspect the page would have been created some time before the rise of LLMs... which I do not use. (I'm a writer by trade. Enough said.)
- Additionally: Noah Yorke has released music, has received coverage in secondary sources and is mentioned on the Thom Yorke page, where he is discussed. (I'm assuming the Noah Yorke page was a redirect to the Thom Yorke page - that's how I would I have done it.) So on the face of it I'm not understanding why the page ought to be deleted.
- Is there some information I'm missing here? Is it possible the page was created as a redirect but then filled with AI junk? Popcornfud (talk) 13:09, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) From what I saw, you created the page originally as a redirect (likely to Thom Yorke) and another editor came in and replaced the page with entirely AI-generated content before it was speedy deleted. I remember taking a look at the page before it was deleted and that's what was in the revision logs. Rambley (talk / contribs) 13:20, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, that makes sense. I've recreated the Noah Yorke redirect. Popcornfud (talk) 13:22, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- Too late to this party! Yes, basically. There's a draft maintained at Draft:Noah Yorke just in case someone fancies writing a real article and not LLM stuff. That draft has the history and it is precisely as @Rambley has it! The notification goes automatically to the page creator and I didn't catch the history. Sorry for alarums! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 14:35, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- All good. Being accused of using an AI to write Wikipedia articles nearly gave me a heart attack, heheh. Popcornfud (talk) 14:40, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your attention to my humble edit. You mentioned in your reverse that the source is not reliable. I added two links, first one a third party and the second, the parade's own website just for more clarification. I guess the first link was good enough for keeping my edit. Best Regards.
