Username chuckle
[edit]I have seen your username around for a long time, and like most usernames I just brushed past any potential meaning. However, in my old age I have recently began learning to play the piano and of course have stumbled across the phrase "perfect fifth" repeatedly. So just now I saw your username with fresh eyes and franticly searched your userpage for a music related userbox like This user plays guitar or This user has conducted the London Philharmonic Orchestra. No userbox, but I found the subtle link :-).
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that jazz! Commander Keane (talk) 10:03, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- Happy New Year to you as well, Commander Keane, and thanks for the lovely note! Delighted to welcome you to the pianists club :) Glad you enjoyed the link too! I don't have userboxes up, but I did add categories three years ago and just never bothered changing it – I (mostly) play the piano and flute. Wishing you an excellent year and a wonderful journey into the world of music! Perfect4th (talk) 10:19, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
I submitted a new article disclosing my possible conflict of interest. But the article has been revised to be completely neutral. I found this process a bit confusing, and I hope I did it correctly. --RThurman (talk) 01:51, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @RThurman. You didn't submit the draft for review. I have added the button to the top of User:RThurman/sandbox to allow you to submit it for review. However, before you do submit for review, you need to evidence why this college meets our special criteria for inclusion. The draft requires multiple published sources that:
- provide significant coverage: discuss the subject in detail, excluding routine coverage like sports results, league tables, government inspection reports, and listings in databases or listicles;
- are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
- are independent: not connected to the subject, such as press releases, the subject’s own website, or sponsored content.
- Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the college is not yet suitable for Wikipedia. qcne (talk) 21:09, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
Question from Ragemushroom (18:13, 8 January 2026)
[edit]I have a friend in my high school alumni association who authored an award-winning book. I was surprised to find out that she doesn't have a wikipedia page and want to create one for her. https://www.evefairbanks.com/about. Her award-winning book is "The Inheritors" There is quite a bit of info about her online, so I have source material to work from. Is there anything I should know? --Ragemushroom (talk) 18:13, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Ragemushroom. For an article on Wikipedia to be possible, she needs to meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for creative professionals. The draft requires:
- evidence that the subject meets the general criteria for inclusion;
- or evidence that the subject meets any of the specific criteria for creative professionals;
- or multiple published sources that cover the subject or their work and:
- provide critical attention: professional reviews, excluding user reviews from the general public;
- are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
- are independent: not connected to the subject, such as press releases, the subject’s own website, or sponsored content.
- Please add references that meet these criteria. If none exist, she is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
- It is often easier to prove the notability of a creative work than of a person. If the person is not yet notable, but their work has received multiple in-depth professional reviews, consider writing about the work instead. It's also worth remembering that Wikipedia prohibits promotion and an article must not advertise the book or the person. qcne (talk) 21:11, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hello how can I get more views on my X account? --Ebumoney (talk) 08:02, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Ebumoney. This isn't a question for Wikipedia, we cannot help with your social networking. Sorry. Try asking your search engine of choice! qcne (talk) 21:07, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

January–February 2026 NPP drive - Phase 2
[edit]
Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!

How to create a new pg
[edit]hello!!! im back with a new q :) what is the process for creating a new wiki ? there is a new documentary series about America's Next Top Model and I noticed there is yet to be a dedicated article for that! it premieres feb 16th so do i need to wait until the series comes out? any tips for how to write a new pg would be greatly appreciated <3 and lmk if you're too busy atm and i should ask teahouse !! tytyty Spindella000 (talk) 21:45, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- Well hello there again, Spindella! Creating a new article is challenging for newcomers because it involves knowing all the most important Wikipedia article policies, so I usually advise newcomers to get used to those by editing existing articles first. That being said, if you want to give it a try, here's what you'll need to be most familiar with:
- You need to understand notability, Wikipedia's inclusion guideline. Generally, you should be able to find
significant coverage [of the subject] in multiple independent reliable sources
(follow the links for fuller explanations of each of those). - Make sure that the article is verifiable – you should make sure there's a source backing up what the article states (but use an encyclopedic style; don't copy, of course!)
- Keep a neutral point of view in the article text.
- You need to understand notability, Wikipedia's inclusion guideline. Generally, you should be able to find
- If you scroll up on this page, you'll see an excellent different explanation of the same ideas by qcne, in case a different phrasing is helpful instead :)
- If you've found that the references exist, you'll then want to make sure you're writing the article forwards: read the sources and summarize what they say, rather than trying to write stuff you know and then finding a source to fit it. You can then use the Your First Article help page for a step-by-step technical guide.
- Do let me know if you have any more questions, and happy editing! Perfect4th (talk) 00:13, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- very fair and duly noted boss ! i read thru the above and ya.....sounds like that would be a bit more than I can handle atm. much appreciated nonetheless :) Spindella000 (talk) 19:52, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
- It is a good deal, but the good news is you can pick a lot of it up just by paying attention to & editing existing articles as you go along :) Good to see you again and happy editing! Perfect4th (talk) 16:06, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
