I've started a discussion about your additions of awards to a number of US military ship articles at the above link. I'd love to get your voice in that discussion. Ed [talk] [OMT] 08:20, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding awards to ship articles while that discussion is happening. The comments there are trending against these sorts of image-based awards sections. Ed [talk] [OMT] 18:30, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you continue to add awards to these articles without discussing first, as has been requested here three times now, you will be blocked for disruptive editing. Editors are expected to collaborate here, and discussion is a requirement. Parsecboy (talk) 00:35, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because you have ignored these requests to participate in discussion over your edits, I have blocked your account for 24 hours. When the block expires, please join the discussion and seek consensus for your changes. Parsecboy (talk) 18:05, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I go to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page to get award ribbons for ships that have award titles at https://www.navsource.org. I am very sorry for being late to respond, but I hear your concerns. If you go to nacsource.org, the aircraft carriers' awards will be listed, and I add awards according to that website. PLAASR (talk) 22:35, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please go to the discussion linked in the header at the top of this section and comment there. The point of blocking your account was to make it clear that you need to discuss with other editors and gain consensus that your edits are worthwhile. Thanks. Parsecboy (talk) 23:50, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am about to edit the CG-55 USS Leyte Gulf page. Shall I proceed? PLAASR (talk) 00:24, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, you need to stop editing articles to add awards until you've convinced enough editors that the additions are warranted. To do that, you need to go to the discussion linked at the top of this section. Parsecboy (talk) 12:45, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article)) for continuing to add awards to articles without discussion (at WT:SHIPS is preferable) after being blocked for not discussing when concerns were raised about these edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  The Bushranger One ping only 02:04, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I want to add visual award ribbons to US Navy ships that have award pages, so long as the external links have navsource.org pages on those ships PLAASR (talk) 19:46, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You must do what's been asked of you: go to WT:SHIPS#Rapid additions of awards to US military ship articles and participate in that discussion. Your failure to do so is the only reason for this block. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 20:48, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@PLASSR: I want to know why you blocked me for adding ship awards to wiki pages that don't have them. It's not a bad thing to add ship awards to any US Navy ship, so long as navsource.com lists the awards. I promise to not edit as much ship awards PLAASR (talk) 19:46, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because there's a general consensus that award-ribbon sections are not desirable in articles. When you were blocked before for ignoring calls to come to WT:SHIPS to discuss your adding them, you even asked if you should resume editing and were told no, you needed to come and discuss - but instead simply resumed making the edits without any discussion. This is why you are blocked. Communication is not optional, and continuing to make edits that you have been told are controversial without discussing them and gaining consensus for them is disruptive editing - The Bushranger One ping only 22:27, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have read your reasons that there's a general consensus that award-ribbon sections are not desirable in articles, with the exception of the Iowa Class battleships, and the USS Midway. But I give up now.

Decline reason:

Given that you opted to evade your block, I recommend taking the standard offer: refrain from editing the English Wikipedia at all for at least six months, then return and request an unblock. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 06:44, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
