What to do?

[edit]

I don't know what to do with Jason Momoa without breaking 3RR--Opecuted (talk) 09:31, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am watching the article. In the future, edit warring may be reported to WP:ANEW. Reverting BLP violations is a specific exemption to 3RR if necessary(though a report to either ANEW or WP:BLPN can often be better). 331dot (talk) 09:42, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

To give a Dobos torte and spread the WikiLove, just place {{subst:Dobos Torte}} on someone else's talkpage, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.

Copypaste investigation on RIM-66 Standard

[edit]

Greetings. You opened a copypaste question on the RIM-66 missile article in January. I just dove into it and wrote up my results here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:RIM-66_Standard#Copypaste_allegation

In brief, it looks like the Wikipedia article predates the other website by around three years, according to the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive (2008 vs 2011). The other site seems to have grabbed the 2011 Wikipedia version and then both may have been edited in a similar manner, possibly the site owner there collaborating here but I don't know (and it's not an issue). I have the links over there.

You did spot the similarity and it was a good thing to have someone investigate. I am going to remove the tag on the article as evidence seems pretty solid that it's not Wikipedia copying from the external site, but the other way around, which is technically a license violation on WP content but not worth pursuing them over it.
