Speedy deletion nomination of Trendrr
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Trendrr requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - While I agree that the information is bare-bones at this time, this is a website that I have uncovered that is of great value to people in the media community and overall consumers. Would welcome editing of any kind, and additional resource links from other sources, but don't believe that the Trendrr entry should be deleted. — NetMedia (talk) 21:13, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- The subject of the article must meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion, which it did not. Furthermore, it qualified for speedy deletion (specifically, criterion #7) because it did not make a reasonable claim to notability. In order forthe article to be seriously considered, it must be supported by verifiable and reliable sources which directly discuss the subject in a non-trivial way. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 21:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
There are several articles on Trendrr, and journalists who use Trendrr on a regular basis. If I sited this usage in the external links section, would the Trendrr page be allowed to stay up on the site? NetMedia (talk) 21:27, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope that I don't seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: likely the name of a company or organization. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your views, for instance, your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
There are several options available to you:
- We can talk about it, here.
- If we can't resolve this on our own, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 20:59, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Happy to change the name, did not realize it was a company name, but after googling see that it is. How do I change it without creating a completely new profile?

You have been unblocked
[edit]You have been unblocked because the requested name change has been completed; ergo the reason for the block is no longer valid. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 12:06, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
