Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cameroonian cuisine, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bamoun. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Unhelpful trivial changes, and need for edit summaries

[edit]
  • Please don't make changes to articles which make no difference to the appearance of the displayed page, such as replacing double spaces in the wikitext with single spaces. Not only does it serve no useful purpose, but it can actually be harmful in various ways. For example, it can cause a string of unhelpful and time-wasting notifications to editors who have the articles watchlisted, and build up of insignificant edits in page histories contributes to making it harder to find more significant edits.
  • For each edit you make, please give an edit summary briefly indicating what the edit does. It is very unhelpful to produce hundreds of edits for which nobody can possibly have any idea what they are doing except by loading each one up and checking to see what it did. Okay, in that case I'll try to stick to changes that actually make a change in appearance. Nehz XZX (talk) 07:14, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I'm going to need to pay more attention to summaries now. Nehz XZX (talk) 07:15, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have just seen your user page, which gives the impression that the reason for your trivial edits without edit summaries is that you are editing not in order to improve the encyclopaedia, but to play a game of building up a large edit count. If that is so, then please stop. You are, of course, welcome to start making constructive contributions to the encyclopaedia if you would like to, but if you just wish to play around then Wikipedia isn't the right place for you, especially if, as I have explained above, you play around in ways which cause difficulties for constructive editors. I honestly thought that it would be better for the double spaces to be gone. If it's actually better to leave them be, then I'll do that. For now I think I'm mostly going to stick to small changes. Nehz XZX (talk) 07:19, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
