A tag has been placed on User:Neha-apiary, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Questions
[edit]

Since I just started with my first article yesterday, I was not able to complete the entire content on User:Neha-apiary page. So, I was wondering whether we are supposed to complete the article the day we start writing it? After reading all the guidelines, I was under the impression that the User page is a place to write your article and collaborate with team members. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, can I know the exact reason for deletion of my page? Is it the topic, the layout, content or something else?

Thanks Neha-apiary (talk) 19:27, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Neha[reply]

Hi Neha-apiary. It hasn't been deleted, and isn't going to be; I've removed the speedy deletion tag from the page. I think the editor who added it was being a bit over-zealous in tagging; WP:FAKEARTICLE is not actually a valid reason for speedy deletion anyway. That said, your userpage isn't the best place to start drafting an article (though there's no rule against it) - you might be better off using either your sandbox, a subpage such as User:Neha-apiary/API Blueprint or a draft page like Draft:API Blueprint. Generally speaking, your userpage is a place to tell other people a bit about yourself, rather than work on content. I'd be happy to move the draft to another title if you'd like, just let me know. If you need more help, feel free to leave me a message or ask for a hand at the Teahouse; folk there are usually pretty helpful. You certainly aren't expected to finish your article in one go!
Some additional information pages that might be useful: WP:42 explains the basic inclusion criteria that your article will need to meet, WP:YFA contains lots of useful information on creating your first article here, and WP:CHEATSHEET will take you through the basics of Wikipedia's markup language. Best of luck! Yunshui  19:51, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
