Outline Review

[edit]

I enjoyed looking over your outline for conservation scientist. You seem to have a decent number of subheadings to expand upon, and it looks as if your article has the potential to cover all the relevant topics related to the field. I'll admit that I don't have any significant suggestions to make at this point, as it looks like you have really thought through which topics need coverage. If I had to suggest something, I would say that the "Responsibilities & Duties" section could maybe us some additional subsections depending on how in-depth you get. Other than that it looks like you have a solid baseline to work with for your article. For resources, I'm not sure how helpful this page will prove, but I thought it might at least help with defining some of the basic topics of conservation that conservation scientists need to address. The page is for the ICOM Committee for Conservation (http://www.icom-cc.org/). If nothing else it might make for a good "External Links" addition. Finally, it is difficult to assess how well an article follows Wikipedia standards at the outline stage, but from what I'm seeing, it appears you are on the right track. My only advice is to be careful not to make the article sound like an advertisement, and don't forget to try and add at least one image. Overall, your outline looks great and I'm looking forward to reading your final article! AngelKelley (talk) 21:53, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have a really clear direction with this, especially in your instrumentation and uses section. One suggestion I have is possibly looking briefly into types of materials a conservation scientist may encounter and how they would approach its conservation needs. I'm sure you'll address that in instrumentation and uses, but I think it would be interesting to see types of objects and treatments in its own section. I'm interested to see how you will flesh out the instrumentation section. It will be good to be able to understand the jargon there. Are there other Wikipedia articles you can link to there about the science? Also, I'm curious about how you will approach the related positions section. Will you just be listing other museum personnel, or will you provide context for how those professionals relate to a conservation scientist?
