Welcome!
Hello, Mariusmw, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome!
That should answer your question ;) SmartSE (talk) 23:12, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- Mariusmw, please be aware of WP:3RR. You haven't contravened it -- I'd just like to make sure you know about it. To see what happens when someone does violate it, you could have a look at WP:3RRN. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 11:00, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- To answer your question at Talk:Tahir Abbas: Four tildes (shown in the welcome message above) signs your name and the date. Three tildes does just your name; five tildes does just the date.
- And welcome to Wikipedia. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:20, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
Mariusw: we are both "engaging in editwarring edits" - you have reverted twice - I twice. The difference is that I am removing potentially harmful material from a BLP article pending further discussion and that you are editwarring to insert it. I think you should know that generally wikipedia practice is to give leeway for removing contentious material from BLP's and to crack down relatively hard on those who continue to insert it without having a clear consensus behind them. I am hereby giving you a chance to show your goodfaith by removing the material untill you have mustered a consensus at the talkpage rather than a simple majority.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 22:38, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit]
Your recent editing history at Tahir Abbas shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.
If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. Please note WP:AN3 report at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Edit_warring#User:Mariusmw_reported_by_User:Bbb23_.28Result:_.29. See WP:3RR; you have reverted the same disputed content six times into the article within the space of a few hours. --JN466 04:25, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
