Distance in the conformal disk model

[edit]

Hi MarcosSVM, I removed your "beware ..." notice from Poincaré disk model. The logarithm of the cross ratio between two points and the two ideal points where their geodesic intersects the boundary of the disk is a standard definition of distance in the conformal disk model. (In the projective "Klein" model, the distance is half of the corresponding logarithm of a cross ratio.) –jacobolus (t) 18:58, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, jacobolus. Sorry for the intrusion. Best regards, Marcos MarcosSVM (talk) 21:45, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Please feel free to make improvements to Wikipedia. The page Poincaré disk model could definitely use work: better organization, more comprehensive material, some historical discussion, much better sourcing, more diagrams, etc. –jacobolus (t) 21:55, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
