Maffian

[edit]

Hi there, I saw that you reverted the edit I made to the Maffian article. The EP fails WP:NALBUM is not notable. I did the right thing by redirecting the article to the artist's page. I am going to nominate it for deletion and it will end up being redirected to its parent article. You reverted my edit without any explanation.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 17:49, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The EP did chart on US & UK Apple Music Album chart at #57 & #82 and peaked at number 2 on Nigeria Apple Music Album Top 100 and number 3 at TurnTable Top 100 Albums. [1][2] MakeOverNow (talk) 20:42, 25 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:TheChineseGroundnut per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TheChineseGroundnut. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

Why exactly is my account been blocked because I still don't understand. I don't know who is User:TheChineseGroundnut. I am not a sockpuppet to the user. I'm only writing articles I see fit and if you check my previous edits, you'll know that's the kind of pages I write. The album The Footprint is popping everywhere, that's why I wrote about it, I didn't know the page or the owner of the album is a sockpuppet. You can't just block my account for one mistake, and also delete 5ive (Davido album) which you know is notable because it's the upcoming of album of Nigerian-American singer Davido. Please don't block my account for one mistake or delete the album I've worked on for long time because of one mistake. What you could have have done is to delete the album The Footprint if that was the issue. Thank you.

Decline reason:

This is less of an appeal, and more of a rant. The only salient part pertaining to your block is "Why exactly is my account been blocked because I still don't understand", the answer to which is that you've been blocked for sockpuppetry based on technical evidence as well as behavioural. I'm declining your appeal, such as it is. DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:45, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Wikipedia Administrators,

I am writing to formally appeal the block placed on my account due to allegations of being a sockpuppet of User:TheChineseGroundnut which I'm not. I want to clarify that I am not associated with that user in any way. My contributions to wikipedia have always been made in good faith, with the intention of expanding well-sourced and verifiable information on topics of interest which is music.

The article I created about The Footprint album was written following wikipedia’s guidelines, just like my previous contributions, including Funds (song), ayo maff, and nine+ records. These demonstrate my consistent approach to contributing factual, sourced content to the platform. My motivation for creating The Footprint article was simply that I found it notable, similar to my other contributions.

I understand wikipedia's policies on sockpuppetry and the importance of maintaining integrity within the community. However, I believe this block was a misunderstanding, as I have not engaged in any form of abusive multiple account behavior. If there is any specific evidence that led to this decision, I would appreciate the opportunity to clarify any concerns.

I kindly request that my account be reviewed and unblocked so I can continue contributing to wikipedia in accordance with its guidelines. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Decline reason:
