- I actually have something I've been struggling with! Two things, actually.
- a) My account uses an open proxy sometimes - is there any way I can eventually be trusted enough to edit while using that?
- b) I need some advice on a page: Real net output ratio. It's a term that's pretty exclusively European - particularly German - and is barely used in English. de:Fertigungstiefe has a whole bunch more information on it, and my German's absolutely trash.
- I'm not even sure if it passes WP:NOTABILITY because it's a term that's not really notable in English, y'know? The thing that's notable is its relevance in Germany. It's a term they use, and most other economies don't.
- Except there's no sources I know that discuss that. I don't know how I can explain 'this is a weird term used in Germany' without doing original research.
- Anyway, I'm not at all versed on the latest Wikipedia policies and guidelines, so I'd appreciate some guidance.
- @HiLo48 you're my only hope MagicBilby (talk) 01:27, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- One of the great things about using a proper, registered username on Wikipedia is that it really doesn't matter how you connect. So long as YOU keep your password secure, all should be well.
- As for that article, I'm not sure I can offer much advice. It's way outside my areas of expertise. Clicking the "View history" link tells me it was created in 2007. While there have only been a couple of dozen contributions since then, some of the editors who have contributed to it are long term Wikipedians who have not shown any concern about its existence. Maybe, rather than telling the world that it's a weird term used in Germany, it might help to say that it's a term most commonly used in Germany. HiLo48 (talk) 01:51, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
