Information icon Hello, I'm Paper9oll. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Elinor Wonders Why, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 09:54, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, Paul Chioran said it wasn't cancelled.
Is TVTropes a reliable enough source for you?
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/ElinorWondersWhy MPMdsfbups (talk) 16:06, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To be more specific, he said new episodes were being recorded. MPMdsfbups (talk) 16:09, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, TV Tropes is not a reliable source. Please do not change the page without discussing it on the talk page first and certainly do not write inflammatory edit summaries as you did here. WPscatter t/c 19:49, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Elinor Wonders Why is NOT cancelled. It's just taking a while. Stop being so ignorant! MPMdsfbups (talk) 21:16, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ignorant to what? Provide a reliable source that says new episodes are coming. Otherwise, it's been a year since the last release with no confirmation of new ones, so we shouldn't call it ongoing, per WP:TVPRESENT. TV Tropes isn't a reliable source since it's a wiki, anyone can write anything on it. If he really did say this it should be easy to find a news story or press release about it. WPscatter t/c 21:36, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia LITERALLY has "Wiki" in it's name. This site is the only "source" that says the show is cancelled. Now stop believing rumors and get a life. MPMdsfbups (talk) 00:29, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Wikipedia isn't a reliable source either. Now chill with the personal attacks and edit warring or you'll end up blocked. WPscatter t/c 00:51, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see no other website saying Elinor Wonders Why is cancelled.
Show me a link to one that isn't Wikipedia and I'll chill. MPMdsfbups (talk) 02:12, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, you'll chill now. It's not about a source saying it is cancelled. There hasn't been a new episode for over a year and there isn't a source saying it will continue, so we treat it as if it's an end date. The policy is very clear and I was very clear when I told you before. You can't just keep changing pages to what you think is right and yelling at the people who disagree with you. That's not how we do things here. WPscatter t/c 04:08, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not yelling at anyone. And you're not getting the point I'm trying to make.
You can't just say a show's cancelled until someone working for that show confirms it.
Infinity Train was confirmed to be cancelled… which is total BS.
All I'm saying is that we shouldn't make assumptions based on anything.
Also, TVTropes might not be a reliable source, but it's still a SOURCE. MPMdsfbups (talk) 20:01, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not yelling at anyone. "‎STOP BEING SO STUPID!!!" "I DON'T SEE ANYONE ELSE SAYING ELINOR IS CANCELLED!"
Please read the next sentence very carefully. No one is arguing that the show has been confirmed to be cancelled. The fact that there is no source proving that it has been cancelled is not relevant. There has not been a new episode in over a year and there is no reliable source confirming that it is not cancelled. WP:TVPRESENT is the policy that governs what we should do in this situation and it dictates using the date of the most recent episode as an end date until further notice.
TV Tropes should be entirely disregarded. Please read our policy on reliable sources and verifiability to understand why. It's user generated. Anyone can write anything they want on there. If TV Tropes is a valid source then so is this comment I'm currently making, and if I said "PBS confirms Elinor Wonders Why has been officially cancelled" then that counters TV Tropes and we're back to square one. WPscatter t/c 21:01, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Listen, clearly we're both in the wrong here.
There's no source saying Elinor is cancelled and no source saying Elinor isn't cancelled. Why don't we just drop this whole thing and shake on it. MPMdsfbups (talk) 22:54, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We aren't both in the wrong. I never claimed that the show is cancelled or that there is a source that says there is. I'm satisfied to end the conversation as long as you understand the reasoning behind the article saying what it says (which, frankly, it still doesn't seem like you do), because in a week when your block expires I really don't want to have to continue reverting the same edits. WPscatter t/c 23:54, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I asked Jorge and Daniel if the show was cancelled on Twitter.
Maybe that should settle our argument. MPMdsfbups (talk) 17:17, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I obviously mean their answer. MPMdsfbups (talk) 17:18, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It does not. Your tweet also states that I said the show is cancelled, which I did not. That shows me you still don't understand this situation. The policy states that an end date should be present in the article until the show is confirmed by a reliable source to continue. And no, Twitter is not a reliable source. Please stop wasting both of our times with this. WPscatter t/c 17:27, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The source is the show's creators. NOT Twitter itself. MPMdsfbups (talk) 17:31, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Which would make it a primary source and not suitable for use in this case. WPscatter t/c 18:01, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They're scientists AND they created the show.
Now let them answer. MPMdsfbups (talk) 18:36, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not yelling at anyone in this talk page. MPMdsfbups (talk) 22:45, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the TVTropes quote in question:
After "A Wonderful Journey," the series went on a long hiatus with no news of a second season. This led fans to spread rumors that the show was cancelled, until Juan Chioran, the voice of Señor Tapir, confirmed that new episodes were being recorded. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Elinor Wonders Why, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. WPscatter t/c 00:51, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • According to Juan Chioran, there is a second season which premieres in 2024.

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Danny Elfman, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 02:33, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
