Question from Pamela Y. George (00:18, 22 April 2025)
Hello! Someone started a Wiki page on my father. It is incomplete and inaccurate. I have a complete biography. How do I edit the current page or can I start another page for my father? --Pamela Y. George (talk) 00:18, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Pamela Y. George: Welcome to Wikipedia. Since you are the subject's daughter, you should start with reading and following the steps in WP:COI. We don't need two articles about the same person, so you should work on improving the current page instead of starting a new one. One thing I'd like you to keep in mind is that anything on Wikipedia should be verifiable, ideally by secondary sources. Please reply here with a link to the article? I can then take a look and give you further recommendations. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 06:02, 22 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from ItalianJazzMaster (21:32, 28 April 2025)
Hello,
I've just submitted a draft for a review. Hope all was fine. --ItalianJazzMaster (talk) 21:32, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- @ItalianJazzMaster: Welcome to Wikipedia. I have moved Angelo Gregorio to draftspace (which is the preferred space for AFC submissions, not mainspace). Please take the time to translate it to English and fix any other issues that you notice before asking for it to be reviewed. Also read WP:AUTOBIO and WP:COI. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:22, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
WikiCup 2025 May newsletter
The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. These tournament points are carried over between rounds, and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers at the end of each round. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,233 round points from 24 good articles, 28 Did you know articles, and one In the news nomination, mainly about athletes and politicians
Thebiguglyalien (submissions) with 1,127 round points, almost entirely from two high-multiplier featured articles on Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) and Grace Coolidge, in addition to two GAs and two reviews
History6042 (submissions) with 1,088 round points from four featured lists about Michelin-starred restaurants, nine good articles and a good topic mostly on Olympic-related subjects, seven ITN articles, and dozens of reviews
Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1,085 round points from three FAs, one GA, and four DYKs on military history, as well as 18 reviews
Arconning (submissions) with 887 round points, mostly from four FLs, six GAs, and seven DYKs on Olympic topics, along with more than two dozen reviews
In addition, we would like to recognize Generalissima (submissions) for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Request for second opinion on Draft:Bibhakar Ranjan
Hello MPGuy2824,
Hope you're doing well. I’ve been working on this Draft:Bibhakar Ranjan, on which you had guided me and even kindly the edited earlier. The draft was recently declined, but several editors (including yourself) have helped improve it significantly since then.
The draft has credible multiple secondary citations from major renowned Indian media outlet and also some international media. There are many more news references that i couldn't add on the page as they were in print media rather on internet.
Given your familiarity with the draft and your understanding of both Indian media and Wikipedia’s notability criteria, I’d deeply value your second opinion on whether it now qualifies for acceptance. If you feel it meets the standards, your insight could really help move the article forward.
Thank you so much for your time and guidance!
Best regards,
Medauthor Medauthor (talk) 12:37, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Medauthor, I do not usually review these kinds of articles, but since there are 35 references on the draft, I suggest that you find the three references that best show his notability. After that you should ask at the Articles for creation help desk using the link that the last reviewer posted on your talk page. Make sure that you post the three references that you filtered above. All 3 references should be in-depth (not just a passing mention), independent (not by him or an organization that he is associated with) and from reliable sources. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:55, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Notaoffensivename (02:13, 7 May 2025)
How do I find my drafts easier? Everytime I attempt to look for mine I cannot find them. --Notaoffensivename (talk) 02:13, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Notaoffensivename: Since you don't have a lot of edits it is easiest to just look at all your contributions. In the future when your edit count is higher, you can filter that page by namespace and/or time range. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 06:06, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Question from Lady.H.B (16:56, 7 May 2025)
hello excuse me my page got semi-protected I cannot edit the draft due to restrictions. We rewrote the content ourselves and added 5-6 references, but they may not be properly linked. Can an editor please assist or grant editing access? Thank you! we are students who are not familiar to work with wiki plz help us --Lady.H.B (talk) 16:56, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Lady.H.B: Welcome to Wikipedia. Your draft isn't semi-protected and as far as I can tell you should still be able to edit it. The draft was declined though, in part for AI-generated text and bad referencing. Since the references aren't linked properly, reviewers aren't even able to check if they are real, and whether they support the text that they are cited against. Please do read Help:Referencing for beginners for how to fix your references. If you are still unable to do so, then paste the urls of all the references here, and I can take a stab at fixing them. The text of the content will need to be rewritten though, in your own words.
- If you want to get familiar with how Wikipedia functions, you can start WP:TWA which teaches some basics. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:56, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
