19 December 2006 Help Desk Archive

There isn't one.

We know questions were asked on the Help Desk. There is a steady volume of questions, and there couldn't just be a day when no one asked any.

I want to see if there were any interesting ones and, especially, if there are any enlightening answers.

I tried the other days to see if any questions got incorrectly archived. It has happened and I have moved them to the proper place.Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 15:17, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Outlines and namespaces

Hi. I was wondering if the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Outlines#Move to portalspace was helpful, and what you were currently thinking in regards to those many topics?

A number of people have asked similar questions - I keep trying to give useful answers, and to fully explain a few of the complexities of the issues involved. Frustratingly, many of the questioners have essentially dropped the threads without giving any final feedback. I'm not sure if I'm explaining badly (or incorrectly), or, if I'm explaining the issues so well that everyone ends up agreeing with my hinted-at-opinions (that the matter is more complex than it seems at first, and that consensus is bloody-unlikely on any sort of RfC to mass-move pages or to create a new namespace, because the issues aren't clear-cut/black&white, but instead involve a lot of overlap and subjectivity).

I'd appreciate your thoughts, here there or anywhere :) -- Quiddity (talk) 18:12, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Followup on navigational namespace

Hi. I'm trying to wrap my head around all the issues that need to be framed, in regards to an RfC involving 'all navigational pages'. I was wondering if you could give a quick reread of the thread where we last talked, at Wikipedia_talk:Outlines#Move_to_portalspace. And then read my questions numbered 1. and 2. at User talk:Dbachmann#More on Outlines. Could you specifically give me some feedback on whether you think those are a legimitate grouping of pages to make? and which of those page-sets belong in the "navigational" group? (reply here or my talkpage). Thanks.

[I've mentioned my intent to help with this again at User talk:Verbal#Outline RfC help request and Wikipedia talk:Outlines#RfC on navigational pages. I want to take it slow and sure.] -- Quiddity (talk) 01:54, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
