A tag has been placed on User:MCIS Language Solutions/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from mcislanguages.com/social-impact/objectives. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Blocked

[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:29, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The organisation I write about is one of a very few remaining non-profit language industry companies advocating for access to languages as a human right (part of Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom). The goal of the article is to highlight how important is for Canadian public procurement to use non-profits that regularly invest back into communities versus using global for profits that outsource and takes the jobs away. MCIS has been around for over 25 years and the article includes a number of solid references (academic sources, conference papers, digital media and daily paper - all researched recently with valid links) that can confirm the historical development of not only this organization but non-profit language industry, commonly called community interpretation, in Ontario. The page is NOT promotional document and if it appears as such I can rewrite or delete portions that do not align. I can also change the account name to my personal name - Eliana Trinaistic- and confirm that direct references used from the company site, related to social impact, will be released for free use/reuse under the CC. MCIS made an impact on Ontario language landscape and I know that because of my involvement with 6 months of research exploring similar models of government funded non-profits forced to grow into social enterprise in the US and Europe.

Decline reason:

Your organization does not meet WP:GNG notability, and there's no reason to unblock you if you're only here to promote it. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:34, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We found an inconsistent approach in your criteria. For example, I doubt that the two template I used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LanguageLine_Solutions and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Interpreters are meeting notability criteria, especially the Pacific Interpreters. I find this to be extremely subjective, in terms who qualifies and who does not, so please, if you do not mind, provide me with specific reason or at least suggestions on how to improve to understand why these two are eligible and MCIS is not. For example, will taking the social impact out change the verdict?
Please include a decline or accept reason.
If you actually read the notability criteria, you'll see that the criteria is not inconsistent: Wikipedia is run by volunteers and not everything can be handled right away. Of course, since you have failed twice at properly requesting a new username, reading directions appears to be a problem. Not only that, but your regular use of "we" indicates that the account violates WP:NOSHARE and should remain blocked.
Copying other people's mistakes doesn't excuse your own.
The article on LanguageLine Solutions cites a Bloomberg article that is specifically about the company and is not a press release. It does, however, need another source like that. Still, it wasn't created by an obvious employee of that company.
The article on Pacific Interpreters actually is up for deletion. Plus, those articles weren't created by employees of the eponymous companies.
Wikipedia is not here for you to promote your company on. If you want this account to belong to a single individual, not be named after a company, and you promise to write about anything but the company, this account could potentially be unblocked (and renamed). Otherwise, you are just wasting your time. Ian.thomson (talk) 15:33, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
