Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rahimuddin Khan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iqbal Khan. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:52, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Battle of Fazika

[edit]

Hello CaptShayan,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Battle of Fazika for deletion in response to your request.

If you didn't intend to make such a request and don't want the article to be deleted, you can edit the page and remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Vijayant Thapar (officer)

[edit]

Hello, CaptShayan,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Pppery and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Vijayant Thapar (officer), for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pppery}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Deletion discussion about Vijayant Thapar (officer)

[edit]

Hello CaptShayan, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Vijayant Thapar (officer), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vijayant Thapar (officer).

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pppery}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

@Pppery: sorry, didn't see your message in my talk. Sent you a message in your talk, hoping to resolve this issue. Although I have mentioned it in previous spaces, it is to be noted thatthe article does not fail WP:NOTE. CaptShayan (talk) 18:31, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Indo-Pakistani war of 1947–1948, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 17:06, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

None of my edits contradicts these five points. I'm just curious why an editor suddenly reverted 5000 bytes without doing a consensus whereas you can see the talk page of the article that while adding these, it was discussed on the tp. ᶜᵒᶥᵒⁿᵉᶥ (talk) 06:14, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Battle of Jassar for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Battle of Jassar is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Battle of Jassar until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Mithilanchalputra(Talk) 07:31, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Battle of Jassar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.hilal.gov.pk/view-article.php?i=6552 and https://tribune.com.pk/story/2434281/1965-war-their-finest-hour. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Control copyright icon Hello Lt.gen.zephyr! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Battle of Jassar, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted material from other websites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from https://web.archive.org/web/20250325211044/https://www.hilal.gov.pk/view-article.php?i=6552 https://tribune.com.pk/story/2434281/1965-war-their-finest-hour, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate your contributions, copying content from other websites is unlawful and against Wikipedia's copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are likely to lose their editing privileges.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text to be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.

Otherwise, you may rewrite this article from scratch. If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Battle of Jassar saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:33, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've also removed non-free content copied by you from an external source from Draft:Inderbal Singh Bawa (see below). Please read and take notice of our copyright policy, and be aware that editors who repeatedly violate that policy risk permanent loss of editing privileges. If there's any other page where you've copied non-free external content, please mention it here so that it too can be cleaned up. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:27, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Inderbal Singh Bawa moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Inderbal Singh Bawa. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and there's hardly anything left after removal of the copyvio. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:51, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
