Hello Wikipedia support. I have read the org username rules and believe our organization has not violated those rules. Please see this username conflict. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google . Does this rule not apply to all wikipedia entries? As stated "The following types of usernames are not permitted because they are considered promotional". How can one avoid that? All names in Wikipedia are promotional. The username "Learn More Indiana" is the name of our state government organization since 2004 and have legal rights to this name. Please advise. Thank you.

Decline reason:

I don't think you understand the difference between a user name and an article title. The Google article is about Google. It is not BY Google. You posted a highly promotional piece on your user page. The user page is not an article - it is for telling us something about yourself. See mine for an example. Whether you have the legal right to use the name LearnMoreIndiana is irrelevant here. Our policy states that accounts are for individuals only and not for organisations. Hence your blocking. You will not be unblocked under this name except to request a change to a more appropriate name under our username policy. And that will only happen when we are sure that you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and not social media or a directory where you can post advertising or promotion. Thank you for your concern in protecting the integrity of Wikipedia. We are requesting an appeal to unblock our current listing on Wikipedia. We are a division of the State of Indiana (U.S.A) created, managed and coordinated by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. We are not a profit organization nor do we sell services. Our goal is to encourage students, especially "Hoosiers", to plan, prepare and pay for college. We work closely with such organizations as Lumina Foundation, USDOE, and a multitude of other education organizations. Please reconsider our status. Here are a few key questions:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
Do you understand conflict of interest?
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
