From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I love Wikipedia! Because I'm tired of being a lurker, I decided to officially show my face. I believe I have found a way to be a contributing member of this community. More on that below.

My Wikipedia Outlook

[edit]

Things I love about Wikipedia:

  1. The go-to resource for objective information
  2. The white-night feel to the project
  3. The overall ambitions of the Wikipedia community
  4. More to come...

Things I hate to see at Wikipedia:

  1. Abuse of Wikipedia as an outlet for subjective opinions
  2. Abuse of Wikipedia that involves grafitti
  3. Abuse of Wikipedia that takes the time and energy of editors to monitor!

Room For Improvement?

[edit]

This is a list of areas I believe Wikipedia could improve--already believing that what Wikipedia offers is genius!

Projects With Promise

[edit]

I'll create a list here of the most promising ways to solve the Wikipedia challenges.

Getting Involved

[edit]

I could move the wikireview idea forward. I have had that idea for almost four years now, and not too long ago I was excited to see a few who were entertaining moving that project forward. But it died! Although I'm a medical student, I would love to take a leave of absence and move this project forward for a few years. I would need the support of the community, but I could do it well.

Ultimately, I hope to be in a possition to contribute monitarily to the Wikipedia project.

Trevor southey

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Trevor southey, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. StoptheDatabaseState 21:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
