You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making personal attacks towards other editors.

Request reason:

I was blocked for calling out admins that I've seen abusing people literally just on my user page, on the personal basis of the literal ignore-all-rules rule because what-the-heck. Who is even reading what was on my user page? Basically no one except those I called out who decided to add my user page to their watchlist. No other Wikipedian has ever even hinted at the fact that they have viewed my page long enough to care about what I think, so I was left to assume "who is actually even going to see this?" Was my criticism out of line and highly opinionated? No doubt in that. But I never knew sharks were circling my user page waiting to catch me slip up. I want to be unblocked specifically because I have several articles that I am either in the process of or want to contribute, and also for the fact that I won't mention the slip-ups I see anymore. Wikipedia is obviously not a blog to call out others and I understand that more than ever now. Katabatic03 talk 03:35, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Folks visit userpages all the time, its how we learn who other people are. I visit up to a dozen userpages a day. Such pages are expected to be civil. I contemplated unblocking you, but then read the message atop the page, which really doesn't show that you understand that being WP:CIVIL is one of our core tenets. If you're not willing to work with other people, we do not need your help. So either craft an unblock that shows you have maturity and are willing to be nice and work with other people, or find another hobby. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 06:22, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Oh, and to any future admins seeing this: I think this block also encompasses WP:NOTHERE and WP:NOTCOMP elements, beyond just the PA's, so I expect that to be dealt with before an unblock. For example, the very rude and aggressive talk page blanking, having been in an edit war on Alex Jones, having been banned from BMK's talk page...the list goes on. Request reason:

I understand everything I said up to this point was wrong, including my overly negative talkpage comment above and my past unblock request. I regret treating my userpage and talkpage as a social media website. I should have never wiped my talkpages with vitriol. If I could restore it to an archive I would. I should have never berated users or commented harshly about them when I did not educate myself enough to do so. I misunderstood the good nature of admins upholding Wikipedia policy as abuse or denial of free speech. I regret my actions to prior articles and users and hereby apologize to them. Wikipedia has changed over the course of its growth and I should educate myself and respect every policy it has set forth. I have learned my lesson and I now want to send an apology to the talkpage of all of those I senselessly attacked if I could. I shocked myself to realize that all my past transgressions on Wikipedia go against my personality of compromise over division. Why was I being hateful for no reason? These users don't deserve that. No one does no matter if you disagree with them. I won't be like that in the future. I do not wish to be banned or blocked because I want to contribute more for things others have not yet. I enjoy being apart of the dedicated community that contributes to Wikipedia every day, and I do not want that taken away from me. Katabatic03 talk 4:13 pm, Today (UTC+9)

Decline reason:

I don't think you're getting it. You could have removed your personal attacks on your user page yourself. You didn't. Ok, sure, I'll assume that you just weren't on site during that time. Still, I have to be clear: if you had taken any other action on site besides removing those attacks (before bradv did it for you), I would have blocked you. But bradv removed it, so you could have just slid on by with my assumption that you would have removed it had you been present. You were also entitled to remove the messages on your talk page (and I'm even going to ignore the implications of your edit summary when you did so, which CaptainEek has brought up). But no, you posted an attack on anyone who would "delete the most minor criticism about yourself off my user page at any time" and clearly hoped to weasle out of WP:NPA by avoiding names when calling people "filthy page-shark mouthbreathers".
This is the most recent episode, the one you should been able to remember and apologize for in detail. Avoiding specifics on it makes your rather vague and generic kowtowing come across as simply saying whatever you think will get you unblocked. If that's not the case and you were sincere, then the kindest assumption about your behavior would be that you werne't in full control of your actions in some manner that I'm in no position to diagnose, aid, or judge -- but would still have to say that maybe the best thing for your emotional health would be to not edit Wikipedia. If that's not the case and you were somehow both sincere and previously in full control of your thoughts and actions, then it has to be pointed out that no user just comes to their senses as quickly as you claim to have. Oh, other people have claimed so in similar time frames, but the less time they spend properly examining their past actions to understand what they did wrong, the more correction they need in the future. And your responses to correction thus far have been the opposite of adequate. To be honest, the only ways I could see you being unblocked are if either:
* You went through everything you've done wrong, in detail, pointing to the relevant site policies and guidelines (which other users can help you with, but you're going to need to take the first steps and can't just sign other people's homework). This will take effort on your part, but going through with it will develop the self-awareness you need to avoid future problems and any users who helped you through this route will likely be advocates on your behalf in future troubles.
* You are made fully aware that a more immediate unblock is just one more inch of WP:ROPE to hang yourself with; that your actions will be intensely scrutinized for the slightest infraction (by users who are under no obligation to want you to stay but to just be civil and assume you're pretending to do your best), and that your next episode of incivility or tendentious editing (as decided by anyone) will result in a block you have no chance of successfully appealing under any circumstances.
You can ask me for the latter option right now if you so choose. Time permitting, I'd also help with the former. Either way, it's going to be very difficult (at least if I'm unblocking, you've been at the leash limit with me for a while). Ian.thomson (talk) 09:42, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I will go with the latter and will watch what I do carefully in the future. Katabatic03 talk 10:11, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

Are you going to remove the attacks that are still on your talk page? Ian.thomson (talk) 02:27, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
To be clear, you don't need to be unblocked to remove the attack. I shouldn't have to explain anything further. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:52, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
It was not my intention to leave that up there. Considering my page-wipes in the past, I did not want to delete anything again, especially if you needed it for documentation. I have since removed my harsh comments directed at undeserving users at your request. Please consider my case further, and I do mean I won't act like that again. Katabatic03 talk 03:49, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
Ok, I've unblocked you. Sorry it took a while, but the delay between removing the content happened to cause it to land at a time where the tab for your talk page had been buried under other stuff (and I didn't have as much time to spend on site anyway). J-Hope

J-Hope is styled as J-Hope. The style is not j-hope. Please revert if you have evidence I'm wrong. Thanks. Also, please be nicer, don't treat and call people new to Wikipedia scum bags.SmallPotatoHeh333 (talk) 03:44, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

I do apologize for any negative remarks I have made that you have seen. As for J-Hope, his name is in fact stylized as lowercase. His official Big Hit profile uses lowercase. Official music videos like Daydream and Airplane, as well as plenty of album credits also stylize his name as lowercase. "Hope" that helps. I can revert it once I have the permission to do so. Katabatic03 talk 03:45, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Thank you so much! I do really hope that you get unbanned soon! Also, the edit has been reverts by a user all ready :-). Thanks! SmallPotatoHeh333 (talk) 03:58, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
