[edit]

Please refrain from making incorrect edits to Wikipedia pages. Oregon has never won a national championship and claiming that you are co-National champions because a medical doctor posted it on Reddit is offensive to the team that actually earned it and its fanbase. Do not get offended when the incorrect statement is corrected.

You seemed to leave my other edit though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmkotlyn (talkcontribs) 23:50, 22 January 2025 (UTC) mmmmmmvmmmvmvmvmvmmmmmvmvmvmmmvmmmvfmmfmfmvmvmvfmvgmvgmvmvgmvmvmvfmmmmvmvmvmvmmvmmvmvmvmvmvnm jjmmmmmmmmgmggmmmmmmmmmmmmbmm ,mmmgmmgmgmgmmgmmgmgmgmmgmgmgmgmgmg nmmmmmgmgmmmggmgmgmgmgmggmg gmgfmfmfmfmmggmgmgg,m,ggmgmgmgmgmmgmmmggmgmgmgmgmgmgmgmgmmgmgm gmgmgmgmgmgmgnmfmfmfmgmgmgmgmmgmgmgmgmgmgmgmgmmggmmgmgmgmgmgmgmgmg mmgmmkgmgmgmgmgmgmgmggmmgmgmmgmgmgmmgmg, gmgmggmgmgmggmgmgmgmggm, gmgmgmmgmgmgmgmgmgmggmgmggmggmmgggmgmg,,mgmgmgmgtmgmgmgm, ggmgmgmgmmgmgmggmmgmgmgmgmgmgmg,[reply]

Tomska talks about not being an animator

[edit]

Hello, thanks for talking to me. I would say that it's a mistake to say that Tomska is an animator. Thomas James Ridgewell made a video on his youtube channel talking more about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcrsyXyd34A

Thank you very much, I hope you have a good rest of your day. Editorwikisz (talk) 19:37, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Editorwikisz: Even if he is not an animator, he is not the current president of Uganda. Contributions which improve the article are welcome so long as they are supported by reliable sources. Jiltedsquirrel (talk) 19:45, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I owe you an apology for that misinformation. I'm sorry, but you think you can change mentioning that he is an animator? I think that part is also wrong. Thank you Editorwikisz (talk) 19:50, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to make well sourced edits to the article to change the way its written, or you can go to the article's talk page and discuss this with other editors interested in the topic. Jiltedsquirrel (talk) 19:54, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

here are 2 images from the same date. when I go to Instagram, it says "posted February 1, 2019". 24.47.248.93 (talk) 23:16, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Neither of those two links show the published date of 2019 The file on Wikipedia has a description of 2021, but I see what you mean - the upload date for the pic to wikipedia is 2018. I think it might be more helpful to remove the date completely from the caption or we could go by the upload date for the file at 2018. Also, please don't delete talk page message signatures. Middle names

[edit]

Other athletes have their middle names in their names but there are no citations why is that? Look at article like Nikita Kucherov or Andrei Vasilevskiy. They got theirs in there but no citations. 2600:1007:B0A5:DFC0:7806:938A:D951:AECC (talk) 12:32, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@2600:1007:B0A5:DFC0:7806:938A:D951:AECC: The reason I reverted those edits is because I was unable to WP:Verify the added middle names. If you can provide sources supporting the middle names, they can be added back to those articles. Jiltedsquirrel (talk) 18:06, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help

[edit]

hello I need with putting an image in my article and changing the title Jonacast8779 (talk) 02:01, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonacast8779 a good place to start for images help is WP:IMG. Some information about article naming can be found at WP:TITLE. The title of articles can be changed through a page move. I notice that the only article in your contributions is List of Sirius XM Radio channels. If you want to request a title change for this article, (as with all articles in mainspace), you will likely need to get WP:CONSENSUS for the move prior to requesting the move. If after looking through some of those resources you still need help feel free to reply here or use Template:Help Me on your talk page. Temporary account IP viewer granted

[edit]
The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, Jiltedsquirrel. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary account IP viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access should not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with an IP address or CIDR range.

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 22:58, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1965 Searcy missile silo fire

[edit]

the only source I have is my own personal knowledge and what my father told me at the time 1965-1966. My father Major Floyd E Starr USAF was stationed at the Satellite Tracking Center (STC) in Sunnyvale,CA. Before the fire, the USAF did not have a Officer in over all Command of the construction work and someone to blame if anything went wrong. After the fire he was sent TDY multiple times as the Officer in Command of the cleanup and repairs. it was done this way so he did not have to PCS (Permanent Change of Station) back to Arkansas. He was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base (AFB) building Titan II different Launch Complexes in the area, prior to stationed at the STC. Once school was out 1966, our family joined him in Searcy and by the end of summer repairs were complete and we returned to the STC in Sunnyvale. After the fire, the missile was removed and a stairway was placed in its placed. Anytime people were working, the top silo doors were open as a way to escape the silo. I was a teen at the time and most the people with knowledge of the repairs have died. All I want to do is add my personnel knowledge to the story before it is gone for all time. 73.158.206.44 (talk) 06:52, 15 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to ensure that everything remains verifiable by the readers of articles. Content which has not been published in reliable sources, such as your dad's experience, is not suitable for inclusion in the project because it falls under the category of original research. If there are any sources you can find that include some or any of the information you've recounted, those may be helpful in improving the article further if you're interested in doing so. Wikipedia is always in need of interested editors to improve the quality of the content in the project, and there are lots of ways to do so. The Teahouse is a great place to ask questions, if you have any, about how policies like the ones I linked above work. Best, Jiltedsquirrel 🌰 (talk || contribs) 02:56, 16 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Topic (I added commentary) ? Please tell me, the contributor what it was as the Article did and it can be explained as me removing it

[edit]

yeah um the article did so when publishing it triggered a filter as I'm fixing it to not have commentary Tokeamour (talk) 01:53, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jiltedsquirrel Make your own assessment as that's your opinion but I have not made commentary the article did originally I'm in the process of editing it Tokeamour (talk) 01:56, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jiltedsquirrel Here is a currently biased and uncited statement by a other contributor "Many museum collections have stunning specimens of deep blue amazonite crystals studded with jet-black smoky quartz crystals." Tokeamour (talk) 01:59, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I caught the "(not from Colorado)" bit in the picture caption, but it was a bad call as I missed that it was part of a longer series of edits making a sizable overhaul. Sorry for this one. Jiltedsquirrel 🌰 (talk || contribs) 02:01, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jiltedsquirrel Its okay don't stress about it Tokeamour (talk) 02:03, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Guide to temporary accounts

[edit]

Hello, Jiltedsquirrel. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options → Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.
