Nice picture :).

Under what copyright license is Image:Feynman.jpg? The picture description should be image tagged. Thue | talk 23:39, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I am fairly sure that the Feynman picture is owned by Caltech ([1]), who has a relatively restricted copyright policy ([2]). In the future, please try to make sure that you only upload images that are in accordance with the Wikipedia copyright license—it could really be a problem to the project if they get sued over something like this. --Fastfission 23:55, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I think that a formal request would be made to remove the material before the project was actually in any legal trouble. Nonetheless I've changed it back to the old picture (which is tiny and why I wanted to change it). It is unfortunate that Caltech maintains such a tight financial grip on the vast majority of Feynman publications and media. --Ian 01:32, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I am incredibly sympathetic to your point of view about Caltech, images of people, etc. Between them, the AIP archive, and the Associated Press, there are a scarse number of images of major 20th century scientists out there which can be freely used (you'd think that someone who had as many government ties as Robert Oppenheimer would have lots of public domain photos, but it just ain't so). But I think we should be careful about the copyright stuff, as that always seems to be the death of "free" things in this world for some reason... --Fastfission 23:53, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Now I am at it, two more points:

Will do. Thank you. --Ian 22:19, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Agreed. Just saw him misrepresenting a source and falsely claiming something else, that the IP removed, wasn't backed by the source. Dougweller (talk) 10:03, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.
