JumpStart 1st Grade and IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005

[edit]

Hi! :) Can you help copyedit these two games? You placed a notabilty tag on JumpStart 1st Grade before but I found plenty of sources for this one. Timur9008 (talk) 14:25, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Timur9008: Sure. Not sure when as my free time has been a bit erratic lately. They're short, so I can try to review them this weekend or next week. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:48, 9 July 2026 (UTC))Reply
@Timur9008: I expanded and copy edited JumpStart 1st Grade. I have a feeling there's still more to expand on (it sounds like there was a 200 re-release). There might be enough to go for GAN. I'll see what else I can find. Not sure when I'll get to the other one right now, but it's on my radar. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:28, 10 July 2026 (UTC))Reply
@Timur9008: Regarding JumpStart 1st Grade, I found a few academic sources that I'm not sure what to do with at the moment, but I'm basically done with expansion. I also added ref ideas I came across to the talk pages of the other JumpStart software should anyone else be inclined to work on them. I just nominated it for DYK and will put it up for GAN later. If you can do a review beforehand, that would be appreciated.
Not sure when I'll get to the IHRA racing 2005 article (the 1st grade one unexpectedly turned into a rabbit hole). I'll see how much free time I have next week. I'm still working on clean up for Defender and Final Fantasy. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:01, 14 July 2026 (UTC))Reply
@Timur9008: I made copy edits and did some expansion to IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005. If you're interested, GA is certainly possible for this. A full reception section wouldn't be too hard, and the content from that could be used to write and source a better gameplay section. A screenshot and a few more details in the development and release section would finish it off. Hope it helps. If you'd like me to review it again after more expansion, just let me know. (Guyinblack25 talk 23:54, 1 August 2026 (UTC))Reply
It's all good. Thank you for the help :) Timur9008 (talk) 16:10, 2 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

In need of GA review

[edit]

Hi there. In the past weeks I nominated 9S (Nier: Automata) and The King of Fighters '98 since they were copyedited. If possible could you review one of these? 9S becoming GA would make all Yoko Taro character articles going GA. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 21:57, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

If I can, I'll see about giving one a try next week. I was actually reading another GAN article to start a review later today and have other things on my to-do list (two FARs, a DYK, a GAN, and a copy review for someone else).
Also, it looks like the GAN for King of Fighters '98 has an issue. It's not showing up at WP:GAN#VG. If it doesn't get fixed, I can try to review it, since it's less likely to get noticed. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:19, 30 July 2026 (UTC))Reply
I fixed the date and it now shows up. Thanks Tintor2 (talk) 23:11, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Good article nominations RfC

[edit]

Hi Guyinblack25,

There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.

By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.

Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:02, 11 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kingdom Hearts II, a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Wood was added.

DYK for JumpStart 1st Grade

[edit]

On 18 August 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article JumpStart 1st Grade, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that critics described an award-winning edutainment game aimed at young children as too challenging for some young children? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/JumpStart 1st Grade. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (JumpStart 1st Grade), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

DYK for Terminator: Future Shock

[edit]

Hi! :) Do you think a DYK would be possible for The Terminator: Future Shock? I think the hook would be "Future Shock was one of the first games in the first-person shooter genre to feature true, fully texture-mapped 3D environments and enemies, and pioneered the use of mouse-look control" (from the article) Timur9008 (talk) 15:41, 22 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hey. I recommend checking out the DYK guidelines for some guidance. I only recently got involved with DYK and am still learning myself. Also consider posting at WT:VG, as another editor with more DYK experience could provide better help. Looking at the article history, the only avenue to be eligible for DYK is if it passes GAN and is nominated for DYK within 7 days of passing. I'm also not entirely sure how the five fold expansion is determined, and the article may not meet this criteria. After confirming whether it meets the criteria, then focus on the DYK hook, which should be concise and under 200 characters. So maybe something like "...The Terminator: Future Shock was among the earliest first-person shooters to feature true, fully texture-mapped 3D environments and enemies." Hope it helps.
