Willett Advisors
Hi Grand'mere Eugene. I'm editing on behalf of the investment firm Willett Advisors and am hoping that, as a member of WP:COMPANIES, you might be able to help settle a content disagreement at Talk:Willett Advisors#Updates to the article. The main question is whether certain sentences in the article should be removed as WP:UNDUE and WP:COATRACK, or if the sentences should remain in place. Thanks in advance! E at rattner (talk) 15:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- E at rattner, please follow the instructions at How to list a dispute for a third opinion. Until you do that, my opinion would not settle the dispute, but could negate its eligibility for resolution by the 3rd party opinion process. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 16:40, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- I just posted at WP:3O, thank you. E at rattner (talk) 17:58, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Invitation

- Hello Grand'mere Eugene, we need experienced volunteers.
- New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
- If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
- If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
- Cheers, and hope to see you around.

"when full dates appear elsewhere in article, years are sufficient to provide context"
That does mean mean that using full dates is incorrect. ALMOST ALL pages about individuals start with full dates here. We are given an OPTION, not being mandated a rule. Unless you can give me a better reason for not changing it, I intend to add the full dates back. Braintic (talk) 19:58, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
- Braintic, I've place a "citation needed" tag next to the birth date listed in the infobox, and you may have noticed the footnote (a) next to the date of death listed there. In general, because the lead paragraph is a brief, summarized overview of content in the article, the lead seldom has footnotes which would duplicate footnotes already present in the rest of the article. In this instance, the date-month-year format in the lead would need to be accompanied by the cn tag for the birth date, and the (a) footnote for the death date, resulting in too much clutter for the lead. If you can produce a source citation for the birth date, I would not object to your preferred listing of the full dates. Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 20:52, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Marilyn Robert

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Marilyn Robert requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.eugeneweavers.com/book-reports. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Hi Grand'mere Eugene, thank you for your revisions. I should have been more specific in the original request. In the Business career section, the following paragraph seems redundant and confusing, as it is summarized later in the article:
- According to Democracy Now!, in May 2024, Lubetzky was one of "a group of billionaires and business interests [who] privately pressured New York City Mayor Eric Adams to deploy police on pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University. A WhatsApp group with some of the country' s wealthiest people detailed donations to Adams' s campaign and conversations with the mayor. Some of those involved include real estate magnate Barry Sternlicht; Daniel Lubetzky, founder of the Kind Snacks brand; hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb; and founder of Thor Equities, Joseph Sitt."
- I noticed that you tweaked it, so perhaps you think it belongs in the article?
Thank you again Birdhouse123 (talk) 17:13, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, no, I see. I found the paragraph to be a copyvio, which I why I revised it with quotation marks. I'm removing it entirely-- sometimes, "The faster I go, the behinder I get." — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 17:25, 11 September 2024 (UTC)

Kat Cole's new position
Grand'mere Eugene, Hi. I work for AG1, formerly Athletic Greens. I noticed your active editing and participation in the BLP project, particularly bios for women, and I'm hoping you could help me out. Kat Cole's current Wiki doesn't reflect her recent promotion (as of July 24, 2024) to CEO of Athletic Greens. Her role as COO and President at AG1 is mentioned only in the intro section and now needs to be updated; neither of her positions are mentioned in the body of the Wiki. This is my suggested language for inclusion. I know that paid editors are not meant to make such changes without community approval; if you give your OK, I will make the edits. Thank you, 2603:7000:8807:D600:D0F3:1911:A19:3D74 (talk) 16:57, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- BL for AG1, your proposed changes look okay, so I added the new text and revamped the citations. The Fortune source and Bloomberg are behind paywalls. In order to make it possible to verify the text and check for compliance with WP:COPYVIO policy, you can use the quote parameter in the citation template to briefly cite the relevant sentence(s) from the article. I added a quote parameter for the Bloomberg source so you can see how it's done, even though the relevant text is apparently in the first few sentences, visible in spite of the required subscription. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 03:07, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Grand'mere Eugene, Thank you for your time and help with adding this content.
- I am also working on a draft for the AG1 company. I look forward to collaborating with you on that as well. Thanks again, BL for AG1 (talk) 12:07, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

NPOV help
Hi Grand'mere Eugene, I'm reaching out to you, hoping that you will look at the discussion on Daniel Lubetzky's Talk page. As you actively engage in BLPs, as well as with COI editors, I would appreciate your critical eye in this case. It seems that my request was rejected simply because of my COI, and I would appreciate greater input from the community, as I believe I raised some legitimate points. Nicole Nason, details
Hi, nice to meet you. I am new and learning the ropes, hoping you can help me out. I saw your interest in BLPs and women. Daniel Taub
Hi Grand'mere Eugene, I found your name on a list of participants at WikiProject Biography, it seems you're interested in articles about people. I'm close with Daniel Taub and was hoping to get some help with an issue on his article, and noticed that you seem to deal with requests like that. I've listed my suggested fixes at Talk:Daniel_Taub, and would greatly appreciate it if you came to take a look. Thank you for your time! TheatreLvr965 (talk) 13:07, 23 January 2025 (UTC)

Len Blavatnik
Pleased to meet you Grand'mere Eugene. I noticed you made this edit back in September to the Daniel Lubetzky article to resolve an UNDUE/POV issue. Would you mind performing a similar fix to the final two paragraphs at Len Blavatnik#Political donations? It seems like the same block of UNDUE content was added by two IPs from the same range on the same day to numerous articles (see here and here). I can't make the edit myself because I have a COI with Len Blavatnik. Thanks so much. C at Access (talk) 16:32, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Huntly Plantz draft page
Grand'mere Eugene, Happy New Year! I was hoping you would give me your advice about this draft. The young actor has been interviewed on an NBC show and has been in Lifetime and Disney movies. What do you think? Ready for review? explains https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Huntly_Plantz&action=edit§ion=1
Thank you!
- Hello, GreenBlueGreen, thanks for contacting me. I've reviewed the sourcing for this draft, and unfortunately, none of the sources meet criteria for WP:RS. Specifically, IMDb is considered unreliable (WP:IMDB explains why) and the interviews with Huntly Plantz are primary, consisting of information supplied by the actor himself, rather than secondary, fact-checked sources. If there are at least 3 reviews of his work that provide in-depth analysis of his performances in publications that are fact-checked, those could be sufficient to establish notability. As it stands, this draft lacks any reliable, secondary, in-depth coverage to establish notability. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 05:09, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
Grand'mere Eugene, Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review it. I didn't realize that IMDB wasn't acceptable; he is a child actor, so it is rare to see any discussion on him alone.
One thing I am confused about though, is child actors in general are not spoken of per se, most of these kids are not mentioned in their sourced articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Caleb_Johnson
Is it just luck that no one has deleted it yet, or am I not understanding another element?
Thank you, again.
- GreenBlueGreen, the difference in sourcing between the Planz article and the Johnson article is that the Johnson article has one reliable secondary source that discusses his work in some depth, and two reliable, fact-checked sources listing his nomination for major awards. (I did revise the second ref in the chart, which did not name him specifically, to the url listed in that source for the final winners/nominees.) Award nominations are significant evidence of notability. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 18:24, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
This makes sense, thank you for the clarification.
The conundrum now is, according to Huntly's IMDB page, he has won a lot of awards, similar to the kid I linked:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11401564/awards/?ref_=nm_awd
What are your thoughts? Delete the primary sources and add these, and that is enough? Or not yet?
Merci beaucoup! GreenBlueGreen
- GreenBlueGreen, I would leave the primary sources that consist of interviews, but seek out reliable secondary sources— You can use the interviews as a springboard for finding reliable secondary sources. For example, this IMDb source lists "3 wins and 3 nominations" which you can verify by searching on the films-- I found this TV Guide source that verifies "2024Young Artist Award-Best Performance in a TV Movie: Teen Artist: winner". Search the titles of films he has appeared in for reviews of Plantz's performances. Here's one source that appears to be reliable (the bright red typeface is somewhat off-putting!) which discusses his acting in some depth. This primary source lists 8 film credits, 8 television credits, and 2 voiceovers that you can use to search for independent reviews of his work. In other words, if you have sources that are unreliable, do searches for better sources that verify the information in the less desirable sources like IMDb. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 23:37, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Grand'mere EugeneWow, you are so helpful! Thank you x100. This volunteer job isn't easy but with you out there, at least it's fun. GreenBlueGreen (talk) 13:27, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
Kristina Romanova
Hello ma'am. I am seeking assistance with edits mostly additions to Kristina Romanova's article. You are listed as a participant in Project BLPs and you've edited the articles of other impressive women in the past. Romanova's article doesn't include her most recent roles as CEO of Aman and other details. I outlined my rework of the article here, make sure to select [show] to see all the yellow additions. The crossed-out information should be removed as it violates Wikipedia's privacy policy; information supported by questionable and unverifiable sources is similarly marked. I value your time and help. If you prefer, I can implement with your approval of these changes. Be well, Astraea2024 (talk) 18:40, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
