Thank you Tito, but all I did was some minor correction. :) In the future, I hope I could be of better service to the community. :) Cheers,

List of longest films by running time

[edit]

Hi. The section about films released in separate parts is not intended for film series. We (including you if you wish to contribute of course) have not yet formulated the correct text for an introduction for that section, see Talk:List of longest films by running time#Criteria for films released in separate parts where I already mentioned Star Wars as another counterexample without anybody disagreeing. Harry Potter has already been added and removed again. I will remove these latest additions. Please join the conversation there if you wish. Please also have a look at WP:BRD if you have not already, this (bold change, revert, discuss) is a widely followed practice. --Mirokado (talk) 20:02, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the problem is with me then if I think about the Harry Potter and Star Wars sagas as a whole...
Besides this, I think it couldn't hurt anybody, if that section were for trilogies, sagas too... Most people who look for film-length considers the above mentioned sagas as ONE whole... At least most of the ones I know...
If it won't be extended, then you'll surely be able to manage things without me, as you did so far. :) Cheers, Fibonacci89 (talk)
Hi again. (If you will forgive me I have reformatted your reply to illustrate how we normally structure conversations. Indenting like this makes conversations more readable, at least once you have got used to it, and this is particularly important when taking part in longer conversations so it is well worth getting used to doing it. Details at WP:INDENT).
Adding a section for separately released films (somebody else did that incidentally) is a concession which was always going to raise questions about what counts and what does not. LOTR was (eventually) conceived as a trilogy and the three parts were produced simultaneously. The production of the SW and HP films was by no means simultaneous and thus they don't give the same impression of a single flowing production (I have seen all three in single massive sessions). The danger would be that the genuinely united sets of films which are in some way equivalent to a single film would be drowned out by James Bond and countless other franchises unless we have a fairly strict criterion for inclusion. --Mirokado (talk) 20:49, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Suggesting again a new section for sagas. In a brand-new List of longest films by running (film series) could be a solution... James Bond films do suit the criteria: They are A film series (sort of), they were written almost entirely from an Ian Fleming book/novel/etc... Regardless of the timespan when they were made, they could be considered as one series... At least I don't handle them separetly. :) Fibonacci89 (talk) 21:02, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No objection at all to a list of longest film series, but I would honestly prefer to retain the single-film concept for the current list. It may be that there is already something suitable (no idea I'm afraid). Have you come across WikiProjects yet? You could join WP:FILM... Please see Wikipedia:Film#Participants if you are interested. If you can't find a suitable list, I suggest you ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film where you will hopefully get reactions etc from more that just myself! --Mirokado (talk) 21:24, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
