Listing political parties as opposition
[edit]Hi there, I noted you listed the various political parties as opposition parties. I believe in keeping a NPOV in stating that they are political parties is sufficient. If you look at People's Action Party and Workers' Party (Singapore), they are introduced as <political stand> political parties etc. Randomly choosing List of political parties in Germany and clicking all the represented parties and then some of the non-represented parties, not a single one is introduced as an ruling or opposition party in the lead.
Basically, regardless of whether are they the ruling, governing, opposition parties, they are political parties set up to try to be the government of the day, and in various parts of their history, they maybe the ruling or opposition party. A lead simplifying saying they are a <political stand> political party in Singapore and whether they are the current ruling, opposition or unrepresented party will be more neutral and focusing on their political stand on their lead sentence. ~ JASWE (talk) 08:05, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I added other description such as the ideology and political spectrum. On most pages, the "opposition" moniker was already there in the title description. I copied the formatting with the word "opposition" from another page for the SPP one, and the "opposition" slipped in there, so I have removed that one. Ethanf711 (talk) 14:36, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
 - Referring to the "PPP" page, not "SPP". Ethanf711 (talk) 14:42, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hihi again~! Thanks for the information. I kinda realised that when I went over your edits but decided to just drop a note about my thoughts! Skipping the R in the WP:BRD and thought to discuss it first. New editors would generally like to put the opposition in due to daily influence but you are an experienced editor so I gave my explanation first instead! Thanks! ~ JASWE (talk) 02:21, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
