Hello, Dinitrify, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Horizons2025 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 18:30, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm new here in Wikipedia. This is my only account. Thanks Dinitrify (talk) 06:55, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
A lengthy welcome
[edit]Hi Dinitrify Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.
Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 16:15, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
Please review WP:LLM, which appears to apply to your editing. --Hipal (talk) 22:10, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
Conflict of interest policy
[edit]
Hello, Dinitrify. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Hipal (talk) 15:35, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Leah Halton
[edit]
Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Leah Halton, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. --Hipal (talk) 16:01, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- I thought I was already fixed the problem, my apology Dinitrify (talk) 20:39, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to. [1] --Hipal (talk) 16:50, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Ayanda Gugulethu Thabethe image
[edit]Thanks for removing the image I put there, I honestly thought this was the subject. Are there really two different women of similar ages named Ayanda Thabethe in South Africa that both work as television presenters? --GRuban (talk) 17:42, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, they are different women with one similar names. See Ayanda Thabethe [1][2] Dinitrify (talk) 19:13, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Aha. Nice, thanks again. Then, since she does have coverage, we could probably make a page for her, to reduce the confusion. (And to use those images!) Since the previous versions were deleted as copyright violations of her "about" page, there probably isn't much useful on them. I'm going to start a draft at User:GRuban/Ayanda Thabethe with those two sources, look for more sources, add text based on those sources... want to help? --GRuban (talk) 13:43, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- I will definitely help you. Thanks Dinitrify (talk) 14:15, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Wow, you really took off and ran with it, didn't you! You even push it live, a bit before I would have, but I guess it's all good.--GRuban (talk) 19:02, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- My pleasure Dinitrify (talk) 20:21, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
- Do you want to nominate it for Wikipedia:Did you know? We'd need a catchy hook. --GRuban (talk) 01:33, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

- Ayanda Gugulethu Thabethe she is the beauty pageant titleholder while Ayanda Thabethe is the television presenter and entrepreneur. Dinitrify (talk) 21:06, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- Is this about the confusion between them? I found an article specifically talking about that, should I add it somewhere? Where? --GRuban (talk) 19:03, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
