User talk:Designtrust

- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Because Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Wikipedia's use for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our rules about this.
In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are grounds for blocking.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than yourself, your group, company or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below this message box. - Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken here.
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. Cirt (talk) 13:44, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:
I would like my new username to be "chriskannen". I understand the user name "Designtrust" is inappropriate for writing a page about the "Design Trust for Public Space" due to conflict of interest. However, I would like to continue working on this page in addition to editing several others including Taxicabs of New York, Grand Concourse, Grand Army Plaza, Keller Easterling and several others. (The complete list of articles I plan to edit is listed on the "Designtrust" user page.) Edits to the "Design Trust for Public Space" article draft will include deletion of the "Projects" table, replaced with a shorter list containing relevant external links to other organizations and individuals. If these conditions do not unblock me, please advise as to what will.
Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Two points. Firstly, the conflict of interest still exists even if you change your username, though that is certainly an absolute requirement. You should not edit articles about organisations with which you are involved. Secondly, I notice that in your userpage you say that "we" are editing. A wikipedia account is created for a single, unique user, and shared or group accounts are forbidden. Before we consider an unblock I would appreciate your comments on these points. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 18:45, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:
Thank you for your comments Anthony Bradbury and Od Mishehu. I apparently misunderstood the function of the userpage as it applies to organizations. After seeing your userpage Anthony, I have a better idea of how they work, not to mention how a Wiki user works in general. At this point there seems no reason to maintain "Designtrust" as a user since it is an organization and not an individual, and hence forbidden. Please advise on how to completely delete this username and userpage.
Decline reason:
The userpage will be deleted automatically after a little while. That's generally as close as we come to deleting usernames (unless they're really nasty and need special treatment.) Thanks for understanding. --jpgordon::==( o ) 18:10, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
