Request reason:

ok so. Long story. I found a weird site that seemed to proxy through all of the internet and it was all indexed on google, it's some indian healthcare site (a scam site supposedly? a copy of a real indian healthcare site). We wanted to see if it could load any url but we couldn't access urls directly, so one way was going to my user page on wikipedia and adding the links there to test them, to see if the site could load itself and get more information about it like its proxied ip. And it worked! It was a useful method and we were able to figure out its workings. But the intention was not to advertise or anything, it was an experiment to load different urls. I understand however that this isn't the intended use for a wikipedia user page, and I apologize, but it seemed like the only possible way to research it. This account was created today because I seem to have lost access to my previous account, I forgot my password.

Accept reason:

It really is a dumb thing to use Wikipedia for, since everything you do here is so visible. And one of your links indicated possible naughtiness, even! So when your edit triggered the "possible spambot" alert... Anyway find another place to do your reverse-engineering experiments. Messing around is received here with great suspicion. I'm unblocking and will likely hover over this account for a while. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 21:16, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
