Help with something
[edit]The page Nucci is being reverted back. I'm telling that person that rapper is mentioned in the title page but the person isn't listening. 2600:1700:EF20:960:CC1E:846D:153D:5061 (talk) 18:32, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. The title of the article mentions that they are a rapper. Changing one piece of information in the article to singer is not enough. You must request a page move and edit everything in the article stating he is a rapper, to singer. (If its true).
- But you only changed one sentence to singer while all other information in the article stated rapper. CocaPopsRather 18:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- @CocaPopsRather Hi, I would like to ask you if you know someone who reviews my article because it is starting to take a long time and no one has tried to review it even though it is a small article. Thank you. Kozioğlu (talk) 16:39, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, @[[User:Kozioğlu|Kozioğlu] I may not be the right person to ask about this as I have no experience in publishing. But I believe you need to request someone to review it? Not sure, hope this helps CocaPopsRather 17:06, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Rollback granted
[edit]
Hi CocaPopsRather. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! * Pppery * it has begun... 21:34, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking time out of your day and reviewing my request; and I have read and agree to all the above CocaPopsRather 14:39, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
Temporary account IP viewer granted
[edit]
Hello, CocaPopsRather. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:
- You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
- Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).
It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:
- When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
- Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
- Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).
Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! Sohom (talk) 14:57, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing and accepting my request, I will follow all guidelines and policies. Thanks CocaPopsRather 14:58, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
Signature contrast
[edit]
Hello, I'm Femke. I wanted to let you know that your signature does not meet the requirements for signature appearances. Your signature may have too little contrast. You can use a tool to check the contrast to determine if your signature meets the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5. If you have any questions, feel free to reply or ask for help at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 15:44, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hopefully this works. CocaPopsRather 15:55, 24 October 2025 (UTC)
- Much better, thanks! —Femke 🐦 (talk) 16:24, 24 October 2025 (UTC)

- Even though it’s a place per WP:V and WP:BURDEN the claim needed citations. Thank you CocaPopsRather 22:37, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Ah alright i’ll put citations on stuff Blobian75 (talk) 22:48, 26 October 2025 (UTC)

Guide to temporary accounts
[edit]Hello, CocaPopsRather. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
How do temporary accounts work?
- When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern:
~2025-12345-67(a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5). - All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
- A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
- As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
- There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
- There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.
Temporary account IP viewer user right
- Administrators may grant the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right to non-administrators who meet the criteria for granting. Importantly, an editor must make an explicit request for the permission (e.g. at WP:PERM/TAIV)—administrators are not permitted to assign the right without a request.
- Administrators will automatically be able to see temporary account IP information once they have accepted the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy via Special:Preferences or via the onboarding dialog which comes up after temporary accounts are deployed.
Impact for administrators
- It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
- It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
- Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).
Rules about IP information disclosure
- Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
- Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g.
~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR
, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67) - See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.
Useful tools for patrollers
- It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences → Appearance → Advanced options →
Enable the user info card
- This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
- Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
- Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
- The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

Questions re use of AI
[edit]Hi CocaPopsRather, I saw your request at PERM and before granting or denying it I have a couple questions about how you use AI here on Wikipedia:
- Have you used generative AI tools to write contributions in your voice on Wikipedia?
- Do you use generative AI tools in the process of patrolling edits on Wikipedia?
- Did you use generative AI tools in the process of developing VandalHandle? If so, how much manual review of the code did you do afterwards?
- For background, when you say that you're a
software engineer, AI researcher
, andAI analyst
, can you give me a sense of what you're referring to?
Many thanks, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 04:16, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- @L235 Hi L235. Yes I have used Gen AI to assist in writing VandalHandle, not to fully write the code, but to debug errors and code has been manually reviewed fully.
- I do not use AI when reverting vandalism/patrolling edits.
- I have used AI on my userpage, to format and speech it.
- In my Job-, we analyse how our employees are using ai, their efficiency and how it can help them further.
- Thanks,
- Sent from my Phone. CocaPopsRather 09:51, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've decided to write a reply from my Computer, so I can format this better.
- 1: Generative AI has been used on my User page.
- 2: I do not use generative AI, when patrolling or reverting vandlism.
- 3: Yes, inside of where I wrote VandalHandle, I have used Github Copilot to assist in debugging, fixing errors. Code has been fully manually checked.
- 4: Where I work, I changed departments not too long ago. I recently was a Software engineer, helping for the MacOS development of the companies frontend. I changed Job titles, and now my main sort of tasks are reviewing the percentage of employees using our ai tool, and how often. And seeing how much overall it boosts their efficiency.
- Thanks, CocaPopsRather 09:59, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- OK, understood. The reason I ask is that patrolling edits and especially producing tools requires the exercise of human judgment. I'm going to take it on good faith that your use of AI isn't crossing the line, but I would note that your userpage and the documentation page for VandalHandle both show ample artifacts from AI usage, and I would encourage you to be very careful when using AI to assist in wiki-related tasks. One good principle is that if others can tell that you're using AI, you might be using it too much. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 21:48, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you Kevin, I realise that I may have been using ai tools a bit much, I will rebuild the VH docs, and my userpage. I want to assure you I under no means would intentionally misuse AI- so thank you for your advice, and I will keep that principle in mind.
- Thanks, CocaPopsRather 21:58, 31 October 2025 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted
[edit]
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.
