A tag has been placed on your user page, User:World Alliance boxing Association/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 19:49, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Do you understand that Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell about themselves, that the main purpose of an article is to summarize what independent reliable sources say about the organization and show how it is notable as Wikipedia defines it?

Another question, did you personally create the logo of your organization, and do you personally hold the copyright to it as you are claiming? 331dot (talk) 00:36, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the follow-up. Yes, I fully understand that Wikipedia is not a platform for organizations to promote themselves. I am aware that articles must be based entirely on what independent, reliable third-party sources say, and not what the organization says about itself. I will follow Wikipedia's notability guidelines and ensure all edits remain neutral and encyclopedic.
Regarding the logo: I did not personally create it, but I am authorized by the organization to represent them and upload the logo on their behalf. If required, I can request a formal email from the organization to be sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org to verify copyright permission for the logo.
I genuinely want to contribute responsibly to the encyclopedia and will begin by drafting the article in the Draft namespace once approved. Thank you again for your guidance. BoxingEditor2025 (talk) 05:30, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may have misunderstood the point about uploading the logo as your own work. By doing so, you have released it from copyright and made it available under Creative Commons licence for anyone to do with whatever they please. I'm pretty sure whoever owns the rights in this logo didn't intend to do that. This is why you were asked to confirm that the image you are uploading is your own work, because you can only release your own property, and not someone else's, from copyright restrictions. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:35, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification. You're absolutely right — I do not personally own the copyright to the logo. I mistakenly uploaded it as if it were my own work. I now understand that only the original creator or copyright holder can release a work under a Creative Commons license.
I will have the copyright holder send a formal permission statement to permissions-en@wikimedia.org to correctly license the logo under Wikipedia’s requirements. Thank you for pointing this out — I appreciate your guidance and am committed to contributing correctly and respectfully. BoxingEditor2025 (talk) 07:52, 25 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
