Assembly constituencies of Punjab
[edit]Please have a look at expanded article Ajnala Assembly Constituency. Infobox is more a hit trial, as article was tagged with coordinates missing and categorised Geo stub. Please help cleanup infobox. I don't know if it has any more scope for expansion and weather it is still a stub. I have very little experience. I feel that this election related article might not be a suitable candidate for Geography categorization. Regards Jazze7 (talk) 13:54, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Articles
[edit]Please consider not creating too many very short articles as a part of Punjab edit-a-thon. Too short articles may not be counted. I have totally good faith, if possible please expand these articles.--Tito Dutta (talk) 06:02, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your alert. I understand the position. Actually, I know that too short articles would not be considered as part of Punjab edit-a-thon as has been clearly stated as per the relevant guidelines. However, while having a look at articles as regards topics pertaining to Punjab, I found that there was neither a category for the category created by me (as mentioned by you) nor any article about different constituencies of Punjab Legislative Assembly. Such categories and articles exists for probably all the states of India. To begin with, I am trying to create stubs for these constituencies. I would also try to expand the same, to the extent possible, once I finish with creating stubs for all the 117 Legislative Constituencies of Punjab. In case, it may not be possible within the time frame, I will remove the Punjab edit-a-thon template from relevant talk pages. I may clarify that I am not doing this with an intent to collect any points, etc. for my work pertaining to Punjab edit-a-thon. I am simply doing this to add content by way of, at least stubs, for all these missing articles - missing since years. I once again thank you for your alert, advice and interest in the matter. --Bhadani (talk) 06:38, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
PEAT
[edit]A point is the not the number of articles, but added bytes/words are the criteria of this edit-a-thon. In WP:PEAT, speed is going slower. Any idea how can we improve? It'd be great if you can write a couple of articles or join as a co-ordinator. --Tito Dutta (talk) 05:59, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

- Thank you. It is the prerogative of the community of Wikipedians to decide this. Let them decide. It is fine. --Bhadani (talk) 02:53, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
Dear Bhadani,I am writing to you as I am aware you are profilic English Wikipedia Admin from India (and I have been a long admirer of your edits re places in Nepal)- something I hope to replicate for Maharashrta using 2011 Indian Census. All this aside, I am basically engaged in an edit war on the aformentoined page, I've tried to resolve it but I've only been a wikipedian for about a year and would request your expertise. I suspect the user engaged in an edit war is using multiple sock puppets, could you confirm that the edits are being made by the same IP? Could you also put some of protection on the page so only auto-confirmed users can makes edits. Thank you so much, --Failosopher (talk) 04:00, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

ANI Experiences survey
[edit]The Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (led by the Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) is conducting a survey for en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.
The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:
If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

WikiProject Wikify: Current Backlog Reduction Plan
[edit]Hey, I noticed you marked yourself as a member of WikiProject Wikify and you are currently listed as active. I was wondering if you would be able to assist with our current backlog reduction plan. While traditional drives are more structured month-long sprints by WikiProject Wikify members, there is currently lacking activity within the project and in order to significantly reduce the incredible backlog, members are encouraged to review all articles marked with the Underlinked Template Message - {{underlinked}} - a list of which can be found here - to analyze the worthiness of the template message on the given article. Articles that have nothing to link or are have had wikilinks sufficiently added should have the template removed to clear the backlog and make it easier for editors to find articles in genuine need of wikification. This can be done by any editor; however, all editors should consider joining if they haven't done so already. Thank you!

- An RfC has closed with a consensus that candidates at WP:RFA must disclose whether they have ever edited for pay and that administrators may never use administrative tools as part of any paid editing activity, except when they are acting as a Wikipedian-in-Residence or when the payment is made by the Wikimedia Foundation or an affiliate of the WMF.
- Editors responding to threats of harm can now contact the Wikimedia Foundation's emergency address by using Special:EmailUser/Emergency. If you don't have email enabled on Wikipedia, directly contacting the emergency address using your own email client remains an option.
- A tag will now be automatically applied to edits that blank a page, turn a page into a redirect, remove/replace almost all content in a page, undo an edit, or rollback an edit. These edits were previously denoted solely by automatic edit summaries.
- The Arbitration Committee has enacted a change to the discretionary sanctions procedure which requires administrators to add a standardized editnotice when placing page restrictions. Editors cannot be sanctioned for violations of page restrictions if this editnotice was not in place at the time of the violation.
