- Regarding Speedy Deletion
- Hello, Altsarc. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
- I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.
- Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance (WP:CSD#A7) or they fall into things to avoid or what Wikipedia is not.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject.
- Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere (WP:CSD#G12). Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch.
- Some articles contain material written in a promotional tone. (WP:CSD#G11) These must often be written from scratch. They are vigorously deleted.
- Any content that is negative in tone and unsourced or which is disparaging will also be vigorously deleted.
- Any deficiencies with notability, sourcing, or things to avoid should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.

- @Dlohcierekim:
- Hey Dlohcierekim, thanks for contacting me about this. I'm sorry for making the page sound promotional, but I honestly thought I was matching a similar tone, style and content as other approved Design Week wikis (including Dubai Design Week, Dutch Design Week, Beijing Design Week and so on).
- What do I need to have different in order to redo this article and put it back up?
- Also, any chance you can restore the content of the page for me somewhere that I can continue working on it and improving it to match wiki standards?
- Altsarc (talk) 08:27, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, it wasn't as egregious as some. You really had to listen to the words. I know the "promotional tone" issue can be confusing. If you make your living writing corporate webpages/about pages/mission statements, it can be very hard to adopt an encyclopedic style. Phrases like "seeks to raise awareness" and "uniquely curated" are promo speak. (I used to listen to city council meetings. Department heads talked like that all the time.) Best to start from scratch at Draft:Saudi Design Week , lest it get tagged again for deletion. Completely neutral language. Each sentence should have a source citation. (Sources need to be unrelated to subject, discuss subject in depth, and have a reputation for fact-checking.) Template:citeweb works nicely for internet sources. There are other citation templates at template:cite for non online sources. And thanks for actually contacting me rather than recreating the thing w/o improvement.Dlohcierekim (talk) 09:59, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:SDW logo.png
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:SDW logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 20:26, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
