SEMI-RETIRED

Due to real-life events, I am physically not in a state to be able to rapidly edit like I have been doing in the last months. I'll still edit occasionally, finish up ongoing DYKs, watch them run, but you'll see me far less often for the time being.
Extended content
First of all, my main editing device is gone. I'm not disclosing why or how, but it's gone. Second of all, I'm getting busy in real life. Lastly, I've been seeing names getting ANI-banned recently, which has really made me rethink my ways of contributing, even when I know they did something wrong to have the ban be imposed. I'm not spelling out names or cases, but seeing a editor disappear makes me sad, especially when they have a history of contributions. I'll still edit. That's something I can say, and I'm hoping to remove this semi-retired message entirely someday.

Question from SegmentYork390 (08:59, 21 March 2025)

[edit]

Hello there, how can I help with adding details on Wikipedia articles? Please answer my question about this topic. --SegmentYork390 (talk) 08:59, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@SegmentYork390 Sorry for the late reply! You can simply edit the article to add information, as long as you source it with a reliable source. When we say that, it means we can't use stuff like social media posts (There are limited exceptions) and reports from "Unreliable" sources. Feel free to ask more. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 13:54, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see that. SegmentYork390 (talk) 03:57, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jetbro80 (18:46, 24 March 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I would like to learn to edit an article and use a citation. Specifically, the citation I would like to use is found in a youtube video and the video is made by PBS - a reputable television station in the USA. How can I use a youtube video to create the citation? --Jetbro80 (talk) 18:46, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You should be fine if the video is published by a reliable source. I think you can just fill out the template with the youtube links in the same way as other websites. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 06:25, 25 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Chudjak99 (01:36, 30 March 2025)

[edit]

Hello, what are best practices for editing and suggesting changes? --Chudjak99 (talk) 01:36, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There are many ways to find a page to edit, but I'll introduce you to two for know. If you have newcomer homepage enabled (which should be on by start), There should be a home page button next to "User page" and "Talk" buttons on the top of your user page. from there you should be able to find a page that suggests edits for you.
Another method is using User:SuggestBot. Instructions are on the bot's page, so click the blue link. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 07:34, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

French artillery during World War I

[edit]

Could you please explain what you meant by "improperly sourced" when you declined Draft:French artillery during World War I? I see 211 inline citations to a long list of primary and secondary sources. – Joe (talk) 13:50, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. Since the decline was in January, I think that was before SafariScribe or someone else warned me about overusing v or ilc reasons and I started taking more time when not quivk-failing drafts. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 00:15, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response. If you know you've declined things incorrectly in the past, I think you really have a responsibility to go back and correct them. Real people have put a lot of work into these drafts, and in many cases they will give up after the first decline – especially if it's for reasons that don't make sense. – Joe (talk) 08:05, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from RobKTProjects (15:00, 2 April 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I have created an account so that I can make some amendments to the article relating to the artist Keith Tyson. I would like to make some changes which better reflect his career up to this current point in time and more accurately detail the scope of his work. Please could you advise the best and most appropriate way to do so? --RobKTProjects (talk) 15:00, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, could I ask if you have a conflict of interest with Keith Tyson? AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 03:23, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Debusmita (12:20, 5 April 2025)

[edit]

Hello i have to publish info on wikipedia --Debusmita (talk) 12:20, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Although I have difficulty grasping what you specifically need, you are free to add any true information in a neutral tone as long as it is cited by a reliable source. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 12:45, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Russian Genocide

[edit]

Hello, I saw that you rejected the draft and I want to know why :( There is also an article about ethnic cleansing in Abkhazia and Chechen Genocide and Russian Genocide is completely different. The ethic cleansing of Russians page in Chechnya does deserve to exist because the abkhazian page of ethnic cleansing of Georgians also exists. So adding the Chechen one would be fair. And Chechen Genocide means Chechens were killed and Russian Genocide means Russians were killed. Michael95ii (talk) 09:22, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I was randomly confused. Sorry for being an idiot.AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 12:02, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
