The tone here could be a bit more formal and organized into a paragraph. Some sentences are irrelevant (like the 70,000 gift thing) and others are confusing (was Dondon her child or grandchild?). Also, I'd recommend putting your inline citations at the end of sentences, because it's hard to read otherwise.
