thank you!
[edit]Thanks for the indentation cleanup (and the moral support as well.) --j⚛e deckertalk 16:27, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, no problem. It looked like a mess down there and I couldn't resist cleaning it up. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 16:31, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Hi :)
[edit]You seem to do a fair bit of good round here. Ever thought of getting an account of your own? At least you'd be able to support/oppose properly on RfAs! ;) All the best, Orphan Wiki 16:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- I have an account, I'm just not using it because I'm supposed to be retired. I'm actually a pretty well-known contributor with something around 75,000 edits. I did pretty good of keeping my hands off the keyboard for a short while after retiring, but as of late though, I've been unable to stay away from Wikipedia and I expect I'll probably come out of retirement within a month or so. I've got some ideas of some stuff I want to work on. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 16:47, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Jolly good. Look forward to seeing you around. :) Orphan Wiki 17:02, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
RFA
[edit]Just a heads up on the RFA votes... IPs are more than welcome to add input, ask questions and such, but aren't allowed to add a numerical vote either in support or opposition to an RFA. Thought I'd give you the heads up before someone else got a bit huffy and tried to throw some weight at you or some crap like that. :-) Jmlk17 16:51, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Quoting WP:RFA, "Any Wikipedian with an account is welcome to comment in the Support, Oppose, and Neutral sections, but IPs are unable to place a numerical (#) "vote"." I always assumed that the "numerical vote" part was in reference to the Support, Oppose, and Neutral sections, and therefore I could add a numerical vote in the Discussion section. I'm fine with it being a bullet point rather than an octothorpe, but are we sure that snippet of policy applies to the Discussion section? 67.136.117.132 (talk) 17:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Indented your vote
[edit]I have moved and indented your vote in my RFA, as IPs are not allowed to vote in RFAs. Feel free to make comments, however. Cheers, —MC10 (T•C•GB•L) 16:51, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- As above :-) Jmlk17 16:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- I did make a comment. It was in the Discussion section rather than in the Support/Oppose/Neutral sections. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 17:03, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
RfC on bureaucrat removal
[edit]Hi. I've started the RfC on bureaucrat removal here. Thanks again for expressing your interest. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:14, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 15:51, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
SNOW
[edit]For closing RFAs, "SNOW" has been largely deprecated by WP:NOTNOW as being less bitey (compare: "your RFA doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of passing" to "your RFA has been closed because you are not quite ready"... Might think about amending that. Cheers, –xenotalk 15:15, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know. But SNOW is still used in about 25% of the "forced withdrawals" this year. I changed it though, after considering the very few edits the candidate has. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 15:23, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- I noticed. It's an edumucation thing =) [Sometimes snow is still appropriate, when 'notnow' would be patronizing, but in these cases it's usually better to suggest the user withdraw] –xenotalk 15:27, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Wait, is that your 'alt acct'? (P.S. I pasted this onto both pages in case you didn't get the message.) :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 06:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, one is my IP at home, the other is at work. The 174 address is dynamic, though, so it changes every couple of weeks or so. This one is static. 67.136.117.132 (talk) 15:14, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, it's nothing. I wish more people like me would take the time to welcome their fellow IPs, though. They're too busy writing articles to realize that some of us are human. After all, there are no vested contributors and all editors are equal. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 16:25, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
