[edit] Hello, I'm Abo Yemen. I noticed that you recently removed content from Kingdom of Yemen without adequately explaining why. - I don't find the terms "autocratic" and "theocratic" accurate and fair, and are very redundant in that sentence too. The term "theocratic" in particular is more of a pejorative and lacks a strong basis for articles claiming to be neutral. "Autocratic" is less pejorative as it was used by the Tsars themselves but still redundant and more a polemical deployment of that term. 2800:98:1119:16E:40D4:F8D1:750A:AB61 (talk) 05:50, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- The kingdom was a zaidi shia kingdom ruled under Zaidi laws and the king was called an Imam. I think that it's safe to call it a theocracy 𐩣𐩫𐩧𐩨 Abo Yemen (𓃵) 05:53, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- That ignores the nuances of Islamic governance and the largely pejorative nature of the term "theocratic" which is selectively used. Islamic governance is far more similar to the British and Dutch models which have state religions and the head of state is the religious head, the head of the national church, ruling by God's grace, but they don't get slapped with the term "theocratic". Even Imperial Japan, despite being under an emperor claiming to be a living god, is very rarely described as "theocratic". There's a harmful tendency by Western commentators and some analysts to apply that term indiscriminately and without nuance to Islamic countries, and it sees Shiite ones too. Saudi Arabia is not described as theocratic nearly as much as Iran. 2800:98:1119:16E:40D4:F8D1:750A:AB61 (talk) 05:57, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
