Proposed deletion of Multivalued function

The article Multivalued function has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The concept of a multivalued function is an oxymoron. As the first sentence of the article on functions states "In mathematics, a function from a set X to a set Y assigns to each element of X exactly one element of Y." This concept was introduced by non-mathematicians, and is not an accepted term by the mathematical community. What the concept is meant to address is already handled through rigorous means by mathematicians, making the concept unnecessary. Since the term conflicts with the idea of a function, yet it includes it, it only serves to create confusion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
