- Can you be specific and link to the policy you are referring to? I can't think of any about AI usage outside of some essays. 12.75.41.108 (talk) 06:02, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Note that this comment is inaccurate (as explained here) and this one is explictly encouraging disruptive behavior by suggesting attempting to hide AI useage. Do not do this. Thank you. - The Bushranger One ping only 05:50, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Teaching hands to build—
- no shame in showing the way.
- Tools don’t hide the truth.

- The point is that the person should not be using an LLM. LLMs cannot read the prompter's mind, so it is not useful for genuine communication. It is instead good at saying what the others want to hear without the prompter having to think about the words used. This can cause issues later when, for example, the user's behaviour does not match what the LLM reassured everyone that they would do. Therefore, they should not be used.
- As for articles, LLMs are known to hallucinate, causing them to insert inaccurate information. They may even add fictitious sources, or even real sources that do not support the claims made. Therefore, you have to be extremely careful with LLMs in this case. This does not mean 'hide LLM use', it means 'you have to really know what you are doing and vigourously check the output, and even then some tasks are less appropriate for LLMs'. There is an essay on the topic. QwertyForest (talk) 07:21, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
