From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sway is a Wayland windows manager[1][2][3][4][5]. It is meant to be a drop-in replacement for the i3 window manager for X11[4][5] and also has features from the i3-gaps fork[4].The project was started by drew devault in August 2015[6], who is still the lead developer as of 2018[7]. It uses the wlroots library to provide low level Wayland functionality [8][9] which is also developed by the Sway team[10][11].
