Childs Play

Childs play was a large online child sexual abuse forum with reported 256,777 active users and 1 million accounts^[1], located on the dark web as part of the Tor hidden services. Member of the forum would share, view and discuss videos and images of children suffering sexual abuse. In January 2017 Norway's largest newspaper, VG discovered that the site was being run by the Queensland Police^[2]. For 11 months the Queensland Police worked undercover as paedophiles, sharing child abuse images in order to catch others doing the same.^[3] The site has since been shutdown. Two men with nickname's "Warhead" and "CrazyMonk", created the site on the 15th April, 2016. Warhead was a Lifeguard from Toronto, Canada, 26 and has the real name of Benjamin Faulkner. While his accomplice was 27, Patrick Falte from Nashville, American. The two met in autumn of 2016, Virginia. Together they would video and rape a groomed child to upload to the site. Two days after the assault Patrick Falte and Benjamin Faulkner were arrested by the US Police. Faulkner surrendered his username, password and encryption keys to the Police. The Queensland police, Task Force Argos migrated the site to their servers and converted the site to a honeypot.
